Got a 1L growler of this from jtrockchalk in a recent trade. Thanks dude! Served in a Surly pint glass.

A - Pours with a finger and a half of creamy off-white foam that dissipates slowly to a thick cap and leaves a decent amount of lacing. Transparent brown-red body that glows quite a bit. There are a few tiny bubbles that meander upwards.

S - There's some nice dank Columbus hop smell to this one with the obligatory weed and Parmesan flavors, but it's mostly bready and lightly fruity malts, and a bit of fusel alcohol that isn't totally covered up. Not totally what I was expecting from an "Imperial" Steam Beer, but it's pretty good other than the slight booziness.

T - The taste is less good. There's some dough and bread malt character, and a little bit of that Columbus hop flavor, but it quickly gets a little hot and solvent-like by the finish. There's some mild bitterness in the aftertaste, which is a nice touch and defuses some of the booziness.

M - The texture is a touch grainy, but that's actually consistent with the flavor. Moderate carbonation that tingles a little but isn't aggressive. Some obvious heat at the back end.

D - I actually downed the first half of my pint glass pretty quickly, but I have a feeling a second pint is going to be a little tougher. It's about as drinkable as a 10.5% Steam Beer is going to get, but it's just not something I'd rush out to drink again.

Interesting experiment - I like that I've tried the strongest Steam Beer ever brewed. That being said, there's a reason no one has bothered to try brewing this sort of thing until now.
