Thanks to bman1113vr for sharing this growler.

The beer pours a clear light orange color with a white head. The aroma is strong resiny hops, clearly a double IPA. The flavor is resiny hops along with some pine and dank notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

On Tap

Stone Brew Co.
Escondido, CA

Clear and dark amber with golden edges. Thin off-white head. Spots and lines of lacing left down the glass.

Citrus forward aroma including grapefruit and orange scents along with pine sap and needles; sweet malts complement the strong hop aroma.

Moderate to high bitterness with a strong citrus and pine sap character. I liked it.

Medium to thick bodied. A pleasure to drink.

An easy drinking, interesting, bitter, and flavorful DIPA. This beer is better than the sum of its parts.

Wow man, this place is awesome right in my own backyard. Had this stuff at the brewery and it was on hand pump. What a treat this was. Big hop flavor that just kept on going. Anytime I can get something on cask I do. This cask did not disappoint and I will continue my cask crusade.

A really great local DIPA. Full of bitter hoppy flavors, but balanced by subtle hints of citrus peel. A true imperial IPA that deserves more recognition than it currently has.

Growler sent by SubpoenaDeuces, thanks Alex!
Poured to a large Duvel tulip glass.
Pours a deep transparent rusty orange, an aggressive pour kicked up a good three fingers of white head.
The aroma is pretty awesome, tons of tropical fruit. Grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, apricot, and fairly light pine in there too.
The taste stays pretty true to the nose. Defiantly a nice dry west coast style IPA, the bitter sweet citrus rind is pretty prominent, I'm also getting a good amount of hop resin along with some pine in the finish (more pine in the flavor than the nose).
Great mouthfeel, the body is on the heavier side of light, with a fairly high carbonation. The big hoppy flavors really coat the palate and stick around for a pretty long time.
Overall a very nice beer, big, hoppy and dry, just as you'd expect from a west coast IPA.

I've been meaning to get a growler of something from Ladyface so I could formally review the beer. Tonight is the night!

Appearance - Pours a dark amber color from the growler with over two inches of tan, fluffy head that dissipates somewhat quickly but leaves chunky looking lacing on the glass.

Smell - Heavy unripe grapefruit and other citrus smells waft up toward my nose from the glass. There is strong pine, hops, and other herbs after the initial citrus blast. Almost not malt or caramel is noticed. This is just one juicy smelling DIPA. This smells better than I remember the last time I had it (new batch I'm guessing since it has been a while).

Taste - Slight bitterness from the grapefruit though not overly. Great oily hoppy flavors meld with the citrus and again, there really is not much malt backbone here, yet it is not overly bitter. I'm really liking this straight from the growler.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, chewy and thick, creamy, oily from the hops. Low carbonation.

Drinkability - It better be...I should not have opened up this growler by myself tonight...heh...may be a long night. But it really is quite drinkable. I am enjoying this batch of Cheseborough IPA and look forward to the other beers Dave has in store for us.

Very nice DIPA from Ladyface.

Orange/red pour with a decent white head.

Lots of juicy hops in the nose. Tropical fruits.

Taste is focused on the floral hops noted in the nose with a nice transition to a slightly sweet caramel body. Lots of tropical fruit flavors here.

Bitterness is restrained. That said, it nicely balances out the sweetness throughout.

Very nice. This is a DIPA that is very mellow in the bitterness department but has a strong floral hop component that balances nicely with the malts. Quite pleasant. Recommended.

Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a bright and hazy orange with a moderate white fluffy head which fades slowly to a cap. Clumps and strings of lace.

S: Citrus (grapefruit and tangerine), pine, floral blossoms, sweet malt. Quite aromatic.

T: Sticky lip smacking hop character with a good balance of bitter and sweet. Citrus and pine flavors meld well with the malt. Perhaps a tad too sweet.

M: Resiny and oily slickness. Dry and bitter finish with lasting sweet malt notes.

O: Enjoyed with a group and appreciated for the freshness. ABV is hidden at first, but makes an appearance towards the end of the glass. Going back for more.

Look: Pours a deep orange almost copper color with a great 1 inch off white head and real good retention

Smell: Citrus hops put off notes of grapefruit and they are backed up by some herbal notes

Taste: Interesting citrus notes that remind me of fruits a little past their prime. Has an almost candy like sweetness and leaves a bit of an off putting after taste

Mouthfeel: Oily feel with a medium body and medium carbonation level and is pretty bitter and leaves the mouth sticky

Overall: This is a $20 growler fill and I'm not sure I like it that much to pay that price again. That being said it is a decent DIPA but I have had a lot better.

Chesebro has been my "go-to" beer at Ladyface. Consistently likable.

Thanks to Greg for sharing a growler of this beer.

A: The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a fluffy white head and some mild lacing.

S: Smells really strange. A sharp lemon aroma that I would almost compare to Lemon Pine Sol. Intense pine hops to it as well as a bit of bready malts.

T: The flavor doesn't quite impress, either. Like with the nose, there is a really sharp lemon/citrus flavor and the bitterness is a bit harsh as well. A little bit of bread/malt flavor, too.

M: Medium in body with a fairly high carbonation.

O: Unfortunately, I wasn't much a fan of this beer. I've liked a lot of Ladyface beers, but this wasn't it.
