A- Straw-colored, hazy. 1-2 fingered head shrinks to thin layer.

S- Banana sweetness, grainy-wheat, and spicy yeast

T- Similar to the nose. Initial burst of banana/sweet flavors, then spritz-y citrus gives way to light honey and wheat-y/grainy flavors with a delicate touch of funk and a dry finish.

M- Very fine champagne-like carbo dances on the tongue.

D- Light body, fine carbo, and the dry finish make this one exceptionally drinkable beer.

I would be hard-pressed to think of a beer I'd rather be sipping on the 4th of July. This is an excellent interpretation of the saison style that I'll be filling many more growlers with this summer.

Thanks to bu11zeye and bman1113vr for sharing this 22 ounce handbottle.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is yeast with some citrus notes. The flavor is yeast, spices, wheat, citurs and caramel. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

AKA "The Griffin" - possibly a variant with a touch higher ABV? On-tap @ Blue Palms Brewhouse - served in a tulip.

Golden pear/straw liquid - lightly hazy with a lasting fine finger of ivory. Pearling lace, good retention.

Tart/sweet/floral aromatics suggest freshly mown hay, chamomile, honey, Brett., and mineral-laden white wine grapes. Lovely, rustic, yet sophisticated.

Wild yeast, potent white grape notes (mineral forward), goat milk, delicate funk, gooseberries, and mild (noble?) hops on the palate. Medium-dry finish draws you back in for more. Complex and intoxicating.

Lightly effervescent, slick, and medium-light bodied.

Very well crafted, creative, perfectly balanced, lightly sour saison - I feel very fortunate to have access to this.

Arrived in tulip glass with 1 finger thick white head. Hazy sunset orange yellow color. Smell of hay, fruit and a little funk. Taste is smooth and mild with a crisp orange peel zest coming through. Also a biscuit malt and earthy flavor along with a dry peppery finish. Mouthfeel is good. Overall, very solid and refreshing. Wanting more of this.

Consumed July 16th, 2011 at Ladyface Ale Companie Alehouse and Brasserie.

Appearance is a lemony light yellow. Ever so slightly hazy. One-finger head composed of incredibly fine and uniform white bubbles.

Aroma is kind of a letdown; old sweatsocks are all I can get.

Flavor is luckily far better than aroma; Refreshing and graceful mix of light cheese, white grapes, pear and apricots contrasts with a mild note of flowery, powdery, earthy yeast and barely-there tartness. The aging in sauvignon blanc barrels adds a nice touch of white wine to the flavor (as noted by the white grape note). Very lightly bitter on the finish.

Mouthfeel is clean and light with low but present carbonation.

Excellent.

Had at the bar in the brewery, talked up heavily by the bartender.

Pour is a light amber, darker yellow with big white head.

Aroma has some yeast and spice, alot of fruit esters as it warms a little.

Flavor is fruity with a little funk, supposedly this spent time in sauvignon barrels, but honestly I dont get any barrel character or wine character (well mabye a little bit from the wine...maybe).

A tasty saison that could have finished a touch drier. Would probably get another glass if I see it on draft again.
