Yeah Ladyface. Just got home popped the top of my beautiful new growler. Poured the Lullaby into my Reidel Snifter and saw a beautiful tan head rise above the not quite opaque black bottom. This stuff smells great, chocolate coffee and some wood. Taste is fabulous chocolate coffee wood, booze is hidden and there is the perfect amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel is right on some carbonation with some viscocity. Could drink more of these... Wish this thing would have taken a name I tried to give it.

On tap @ Ladyface for International Stout Day.

A: Pours black with a fine tan head which leaves large sheets of lace down the glass.

N: Raisins and plums dominate, followed by a slightly leathery note.

T: Slightly sour, mildly sweet, with dark fruits, cherry pits, plums, raisins, oak. Some char along with roast and leather and faint tobacco.

M: Rich, thick and creamy. Medium carb and body. Slightly sour up front and leathery finish.

O: Complex. Supposedly from a year old keg. Somewhat oxidized "old" quality which is really enjoyable. Go for it.

Consumed June 6th, 2012 at Tony's Darts Away, Burbank, CA.

Appearance: opaque, about a shade browner than black. A very fine tan head that's just a crown around the head of the beer but still manages to provide nice sheeting.

Aroma: chocolate, with coffee accents. A dash of malted milk.

Taste: full, rich and bitter. Slightly chalky coffee and chocolate. Significantly bitter, bordering on too much.

Minimal carbonation prickle and only a little thicker than water.

Not one of the best RISs I've ever had, but the only real flaw is the chalkiness.

Appearance: Arrives pitch black covered by a mocha head that dissipates; some spots of foam cling

Smell: Roast and chocolate, with a hint of coffee

Taste: Roast forward with chocolate tones; the hops add a a significant citrusy bitterness that complements the coffee; slightly oaky, in the finish

Mouthfeel: Full body with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: Taste, but not what I would consider a RIS; more like an American Double Stout, given the hops and the lack of a dark fruit character

On tap at Ladyface Ale Companie in Agoura Hills, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A thick foamy curtain of lace forms down the whole glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa nibs, and cocoa powder. Taste is very much the same with some slight coffee flavors. There is a medium roasty bitterness after each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good RIS with some pretty roasty aromas and flavors.
