Paired with pepperoni pizza gives this beer what it's missing. Great compliments!

Appearance - 3.5/5
Pours a dark orange-red-brown. Clear. Moderate amount of rising carbonation can be seen. There is basically no head.

Smell - 3.5/5
Fruity malts, a tiny bit of alcohol. The aroma is not super strong, hard to make out much else.

Taste - 3.75/5
Fruity, sweet, slighty roasty malts. A tiny bit of hops as well. I like the roasty twist on the traditional amber ale taste.

Mouthfeel - 4/5
Smooth, crisp, smaller amount of high-intensity carbonation. Slightly more full than medium body.

Overall - 3.75/5
Overall, I liked the slightly roasty twist on the normal amber ale formula. I like the smooth, crisp mouthfeel which had a nice carbonation kick. I would have liked the beer to have some head, and for the aroma to be stronger and more complex. Still, a good brew. My first from North Peak, am excited to trying more of their beers.

Bottled on 6/16/14.

Pours a hazy dark orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, and nut aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, nut, and slight caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid toast and nut qualities that make it easy to drink.

Serving type: bottle.
