Appearance: Pours a hazy honey color with a moderate head that leaves a few shards behind as it fades

Smell: Grapefruit, papaya and spicy yeast tones

Taste: Shortbread malt backs up the tropical fruit flavors, with grapefruit, papaya, banana and lychee; after the swallow, the Belgian yeast phenols kick in, bringing peppery spice and herbal elements

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Been looking to try this for a few years now and am glad I finally found a bottle; this is an extraordinarily well-balanced Belgian IPA; a real pleasure to consume

L - Into a pint glass with a hazy orange appearance and nice white head.
S - Yeast and sweet
T - Like the smell plus Im picking up a little pine and hop bite, caramel is coming though as well.
M - Medium body with a bitter finish.
O - This one was bottled a little over 4 months ago so I think its a little old to be fair.

A - Pours a cloudy golden orange with a two-finger sturdy white head. The head dissapates slowly leaving some spotty lacing.

S - Aroma is Belgian yeast, candied sugar, and some light piney hops.

T - The flavor starts with lots of grapefruit, orange peel, piney hops, and Belgian yeast. The finish has a peppery finish with more piney hops producing a lingering bitterness.

M - Meidum bodied with medium carbonation. Very crisp mouthfeel with a sticky finish.

O - This is a nice Belian IPA. A bit on the bitter side, but still a very enjoyable beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/31/2014. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light banana, pepper, clove, pine, herbal, floral, grass, biscuit, light honey, light bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/pine hops, and light-moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light banana, pepper, clove, pine, herbal, floral, grass, biscuit, light honey, light bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness and yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, pine, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/pine hops, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a great yeast/hop balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with very smooth, crisp, sticky, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/pine hops, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Thanks to genuinedisciple for tossing this my way. Bottle is dated January 9, 2012 so I better drink this puppy now.

a - brew poured a murky orange with about 80% of the glass as foamy head. the head left huge chunks of lacing.

s - candied belgian yeast. smells like a belgian pale ale, but this is 8 months old, so i wouldn't expect any hops.

t - candied belgian sugar with a bit of a bittery finish.

m - medium bodied, but bitter ending.

o - overall, not bad, but i wish i would've gotten to try this within 3 months. an ipa beyond that is really a former shadow of itself, even a belgian ipa. this was essentially a belgian pale ale with a bittery finish. meh.
