Notes:
Known as Cinq Cents in 0.75l bottles.
The Chimay Triple, which is the brewery’s most recent creation. It is golden in colour, and succeeds remarkably in blending mellowness and bitterness.
Chimay Triple dates back to 1966. But it was launched in 0.75l bottles for the 500th anniversary of the principality of Chimay in 1986. This is why it is also known under the name of "Cinq Cents" (meaning 500) in 0.75l bottles.

Yellow, somewhat cloudy with a small layer of white foam. The smell is discreet and got hints of sour milk and lime.
The carbon dioxide is medium-strong. Taste is dry and bitter; there must be lots of hops in this brew. Then there is a sweet taste of lactose, followed by a quite simple sweet-bitter aftertaste.
It seems like I have been missing something important in this drink. It wasnt obviously defective, but it seemed much more simple than I would have expected from a Belgian import beer. Maybe the keg had been in use for too long? I dont really know

Beautiful darker golden color with a fruity and slightly bitter flavor.

Enjoyed under the belfry of medieval Gent before heading to Bruges, this foggy burnt gold beer has a very actively tall off-white foam head.
Its airy froth belies a dry bite and a punch of peppery phenol before exhaling a little toasted biscuit where too some heat reveals itself.

Smooth and mellow, completely belies it's ABV. Two finger head, laces down nicely. Warm and smooth mouth feel, awash with hops, bready and malty finish. Liquid biscuit aftertaste, and you can't ask for more than that! Excellent and rewarding triple ale.

330 ml bottle into a Chimay chalice, poured at 50°. Hazy gold, fine white foam cap that laces down per sip.
Aroma of familiar Belgian yeast, biscuit, banana, distant hop.
Taste follows, touch of warm spice. I enjoy the bitter finish.
Feel is medium, medium to high carbonation.
Overall, nice Tripel.,

330ml. bottle in Vientiane, Laos. Pours a coppery red with a medium foamy head. Aroma of dark fruits and bread. Taste of malts, yeast, apple. Moderate bitterness with a tart finish. A very pleasant tripel.
