Been in my cupboard a few months.

A: Typical Belgian pale ale. Cloudy dark gold with a foamy white head.

S: Sensational burst of bathwater, touch of apple. Banana present but not pungent.

T: I love tripels like this. Tart with hoppy bitterness and hoppy bathwater. A fair bit of black pepper and lots of apples and berries in the finish. Not sweet though, and no coriander, thank goodness. Just finishing off and the bitterness is becoming quite unpleasant, like a paracetamol stuck in my throat.

O: If not for the bitterness in the finish I'd rate this close to 5. It's not at all the pleasant bitterness you get from IPA's.

A - Poured a cloudy golden honey color with off white frothy two fingered head that laced beautifully.

S - Tropical fruit aromas including pineapple, peach and banana although not that prominent

T - Up front I get banana, cloves, bready, yeasty notes and at the finish I get some peach in the slightly dry bitter finish

M - medium bodied with good carbonation

O - a nicely balanced beer that is probably my favorite of the chimay range. Definitely a nice tripel although there are better ones out there.
