Chimay 150 is a refreshing beer, strong but refined, with a balanced flavor and floral scent, accompanied by aromas of dried fruits and spices. It has an ABV of 10%. Saaz and Hallertau Mittelfrüh, two hops known for their superior quality and finesse, are blended and a secret spice is added to produce this unique taste.
Chimay 150 is the result of the experience of generations of brewers who have succeeded one another for 150 years in Chimay's brewery. A limited edition (150,000 bottles) of Chimay 150 was brewed for the very first time for the brewery's 150th anniversary in 2021.

330 ml bottle served cold into a chalice. LCBO purchase for $4.95 CDN. Best before sometime in 2025.
Appearance - Beautiful mostly clear rich golden color with more elements of straw than amber. Two fingers of perfectly tight white head are poured with very good head retention. Lots of bubbles.
Smell - Lots of bread, lots of yeast, hints of coriander and citrus, with some apple skin thrown in. Maybe even a grape appearance.
Taste - Some bread, light fruitiness and again a pinch of coriander. Plenty of depth and little bits of grass and lemon here and there too. Apple's, yeast and maybe even lightly powdered doughnuts. Great stuff as expected.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full and a little boozy, but smooth while being carbonated out the wazoo. Like many of the classic Belgians, it's hard to describe but just feels "right".
Overall - Yeah, awesome pale ale that falls a touch short of Duvel and maybe La Chouffe, but super impressive and to me is more enjoyable than virtually every other Strong Belgian Pale out there including Delirium.

33 cL bottle poured into a Belgian ale tulip, in Toulouse, France. Fine head rears itself, stays puffy, laces on down. Cloudy gold appearance.
The word ‘floral’ is what pops off the nose first. ‘Unique’ would be next. Honeyed apricot slices on a slice of fresh baked bread.
Taste is, again, unique, in the world of Belgian Strong Ales. Long chew of them Saaz hops, balanced by a spicy jazz rhythm, the well hidden ABV reveals itself late in the drink. Great bitter note destroys the sweetness most Strong Belgians have. Very nice!
Mouthfeel is typical for the style, and the carbonation is smooth.
Overall, the spice sets this brew apart from its contemporaries. I could drink these all evening.

Bottle from the magnificent Woodman’s in Green Bay. Poured into Rochefort tulip a week later. Not as perfect as a tripel but you know it’s delicious.

Best chimay i have tried i think. It was a bottle pour. Rivals my prference for blue but definitely has a certain spiced edge that the other offerings dont have. Kinda expensive. Get some!

Chimay calls this a "Blond" on the Label, but it is very much a Tripel.A really good one at that.

Ooh this is a big hitter. Balling with murky gold haze, bitter hops and a capped with a foamy massive head this one is not meek at heart. There's spice, there's florals, there is buubly effervescence, it hits big on nose and mouth and the ABV is well masked. Oof.

Yields a glowing golden color with a huge, stable white head.
The aromas on this inherit wet grass, raisins and toffee with a touch of earth to it. It‘s also developing a herbal sage note among plum and sea buckthorn.
Has a light and well balanced body with a noteable effervescence in the finish, creating a complex, yet refreshing beer.
Tastes of spruce, caramel, sweet, slightly rustic toffee and whipped cream, creating a gentle smoothness. Has a rock sugar defined middle part with lighter sage notes and dried grass, together with a pleasant leaf dryness. Finishes with hay, honey and spicy garden leaves, ending with a long lasting, flowery and dry aftertaste.
Very well rounded, complex and smooth, this is really convincing.
