From notes taken 07/06/16:

Straw to brassy gold, essentially clear but swirling with fine haze and the occasional larger fleck. Fluffy brighter off-white head, two fingers, good retention, and minimal lacing. In bottle, pleasant and clean breadiness and herbal hop character, in glass, more fruity, like apple, pear esters, combined with bread, grass, and tea-like herbal aromas. Bread, with pleasant bready grains to the palate. Some metallic, herbal, and tart malt notes about half-way through, cleaning up by the finish. Fuller end of light-bodied, spritzy at first but ultimately so incredibly creamy-smooth.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.

L - Golden straw color, clear, even head that leaves a nice lacing on the sides

S - Must not be a very fresh bottle. Fruit, honey, wet dog, some biscuit malt and slightly hoppy.

T - Strong malt up front, citrusy floral hops, a sticky honey finish, similar to a German pilsner.

F - Crisp, medium carbonation, very drinkable.

O - Surprisingly solid blonde ale for it to be coming from Costco. A little on the sweeter side, but a nice session ale.

Light citrus hops, clean yeast (review based in San Jose, suspect it is brewed by Gordon Biersche & I love their beers so of course it is good!). Clean & light..

Pours a golden color with slight carbonation. Has a decent sized head that retains for a decent time before turning into a ring. Nice refreshing smell. Weak taste with malt at the front. Almost no hops. A little bit of wheat smell if I'm not imagining things. This beer would be so much better if the taste wasn't so watery. Was expecting a smooth feel but actually feels watery too.

Look: Poured into a pint glass. Golden in color, clear. Pours with a thin head and slight lacing on the glass.

Smell: Citrus, hops, grain. Very appealing, and more than I expected from a Blonde Ale.

Taste: Not as complex as the smell, watery. Malt comes to front. Slight metallic flavor but not so much as to turn me off. Hops/citrus go way back, but linger nicely in the finish.

Feel: Thin, but nicely carbonated.

Overall: Drinkable, average ale. My least favorite of the 2015 Kirkland sampler, but it would be fine with food on a hot day.
