Pours a clear amber color with an apple juice hue and minimal white head with moderate action and a hint of sediment.

Caramel and barley grain malt aroma with florals.

Has a grainy barley malt taste with a hint of grapefruit and butter.

Light bodied, resinous and slight butter feel, with lively crisp carbonation.

Definite session beer and the grainy barley taste is not to sweet.

Served in the trusty Devil's Backbone willibecher.

At the behest of a buddy back home in IL, I cracked this one. Mike and I are interested in how a CostCo beer tastes. It pours a clear copper amber topped by a finger or so of white foam. The nose is faint, comprising some light coriander, cinnamon, wheat, and citrus zest. They don't mix as well as it may have just sounde, especially given the apparent distance of the scents from the 'strils. As the Moody Blues' "Tuesday Afternoon (Forever Afternoon)" fires up, I take a swig. The taste is pretty weak: There's some mild citrus in there, followed by some somewhat florally-influenced bitterness, and finished off by a decidedly meek toffee. It's not bad, necessarily, but it ain't that close to good. The body is pretty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a somewhat crisp finish. Despite its drawbacks, this brew ius pretty easy to throw back. Still, I wouldn't really recommend it, save as an alternative to the BMC nonsense next to it in the aisle.

A - Pours a clear copper with a slight orange tint and a thin finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving behind some lace.

S - Aroma is a mix of grassy hop and sweet caramel malt. Bit of biscuit as well.

T - Starts off with a mix of herbal hops and some sweet buttery biscuit malt. Through the middle, the caramel comes through a bit and the hops start to fade. Touch of bitterness comes through. Finish is a mix of sweet caramel and some buttery biscuit.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels fairly smooth though a bit watery and muddled.

D - Very drinkable. Could have used a bit more hops and a less strong malt presence. Not a very good balance here.

43rd review on BA
Bottle to pint glass

I reviewed the Hefe 1st after my father in law happened to get me a 24 pack on his most recent jaunt to Costco. Here try these he says. Thanks! It took me a while to get the nerve for round 2.

App- Poured a nice amber color with very little head on it. Few faint bubbles leisurly made their way up from the bottom of the glass. Just kind of a run of the mill color and look.

Smell- I'm torn. I like the smell but I think it's because they were off on the smell of a pale ale on this one. Slight, slight citrus with a bit of wheat and grain imo.

Taste- It's not bad, but it's not great. Its a super chain trying to make more money. At least it wasn't as bad as the Hefe I tried 1st. Oh man. It's a tad sweet for a pale but leaves a somewhat nice aftertaste.

Mouth- Has a in the middle feel of that big light to a small medium on the palate. It's pretty balanced but I still think its because they were off the mark on it.

Drink- Not entirely bad. I didn't drain pour it. If nothing else left in the house could drink a few.

This poured out as a decent looking yellowish gold color with a white head on top. The smell of pale malts and hops fill the nose. The taste of some crisp hops balance out the sweetness of the malts. The mouthfeel of the beer is light bodied, pretty easy going, nothing overly complex happening here. Overall it's a standard Pale Ale. I would drink it again but I wouldn't have to pay for it.

Another review of flavored water.
Why did I buy this case.

Appearance: A good looking clear pale amber color with a nice looking white head. Leaves nice lacing on the glass. Forget it after this.

Smell: uneventful. Little hop citrus and slight malty nose.

Taste: Wow, is that water! The Kirkland line of beers have a big watery style. Then, they add a little flavoring. A little dry citrus taste and a little sweet malt. Nothing that stands out but, that water is fresh!

Mouthfeel: The watery style cleans the palate fairly well from overpowering flavor of ... water. Ok, it has a little dry citrusy bit and a strange taste of sugar. I swear once in a while on the aftertaste I get a table sugar taste.

Drinkable: For me I'll pass. The german and hefe were a little more drinkable.

Save your money and go buy, at least, good beer.

Pours a transparent golden color with a 1/2" white head that quickly dissipates. Smell is not terribly potent, but you can smell American hops and a little bit of citrus. Taste is hoppy with a little bit of citrus again, a little bit of a soapy finish, but not as bad as the Kirkland Hefe. Mouthfeel is average, a little thin, carbonation is okay. Overall, I am glad I tried it, I would have another if it was offered to me, but I wouldn't go buy it.

Visiting family this weekend netted me an unusual four pack. I was chatting up the beer part of my family when my Aunt comes walking over telling me I MUST review this collection of beer. Bunch of kirklands... well, here goes Auntie!

Vision
Pretty interesting finger of egg shell head rests above a honey colored body. Little bit of carbonation seen in the midst of the liquid. I was a little thrown back by how dark a body this pale ale possessed.

Bouquet
Little bit of fruit noted, mostly citrus in nature. Minor hops and partial malt character. Not much to note here. It seems interesting, but faint throughout.

Flavor Profile
Unfortunate notes to make here. Very strong hop body that is overwhelming. Bitter enough that I could swear they got the style wrong. Faint sweetness from the malts but overwhelmingly hoppy. Confusingly so.

The finish is moderately clean with the hops fading away almost as quickly as the drink goes down. This saves the flavors from being noted as anything worse than what it is rated.

Oral Sensations
Decent body for this. Not overly watery to note. Extremely carbonated however. Very distracting when I feel the pinch all over my tongue,.

Conclusions
I'd drink it again if it was given to me free. I'm not sure if I would choose this over something less oppressive... May even take an American Adjunct Lager over this.

The beer pours a medium copper and amber in color with a small head of white foam. The aroma is light biscuit to scone with red plum jelly. The taste is somewhat malty and fruity with a slightly bitter and dry finish. As like the IPA, there is a bit of tea with honey and lemon in the aftertaste. For a store brand, this is a good approximation of an English-style pale ale.

Poured caramel-gold, a half finger of foam that disappeared quickly, leaving a thin skein. Some lacing was noticeable.

The smell was almost completely absent. This is becoming a theme with these Kirkland beers.

Taste was crisp from the carbonation, some grain and malt was apparent. Bitterness came in about midway through, hops, grassy and floral at the edges of the palate. Bitterness lingers modestly into the finish in the light to medium bodied beer.

Overall, non-descript. Perhaps it's worth drinking st it's price point, or not. There are way too many beers and not enough time..but now I'm rambling on...
