Stopped by Lord Hobo for a few beers on my visit to Boston for ACBF. I was looking for it and nearly walked right past it on the street. Cool setup, smaller place with some tables and an average sized bar.

My favorite part is that they print and post a new tap list every day. They had some classic craft beers like stone, rogue, DFH, etc. plus some unique local brews like Pretty Little Things.

Service was good and was into beer. I overheard one of the bartenders getting into a heated conversation about his favorite beer which was entertaining. Good music too...radiohead cd was on.

We didn't eat there but from what I saw the food looked good. Full bar with beer, wine, and liquor.

Used to be a great spot when it was a bar but since it became a pseudo outpost for the mediocre brewery associated with it, it's become a less desirable place to go.

What I had: Jack’s Abby Pro-Am Pilsner, Port Brewing Wipeout IPA, Pretty Things Field Mouse’s Farewell, Smuttynose Rhye IPA, and Lost Abbey Witch’s Wit on tap, truffle fries, pan roasted salmon, mac and cheese, and several glasses of Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc for my better half.

What I liked: Dark no frills ambience, good college crowd, comfy and approachable bar, insane draft list, quick and welcoming servers, delicious food, had a great chat with the bartender and one of the patrons.

What I disliked: Nothing. We had a near-flawless experience and would come here very often if we lived in the neighbourhood.

Would I go back? Absolutely.

Love this place....only reason service is a 4 is because a waitress messed up a beer order for a friend of mine once (other waitresses here were better)

Stopped at Lord Hobo twice, on consecutive days. First day was after Night Shift, so I was pretty worn out. The vibe is a weird mix of dive and gastro pub, but I liked it. On day 1, our waitress/bartender was called Michelle (I think), a short chick with a cool haircut. Very friendly and funny. Had a burger, which was very good, and a couple of beers. The taplist is insane, with every kind of beer you could ever want. Had Grimm's Lumen (amazing) and Lambda Lambda Lambda by Melvin's, my first Wyoming beer. After that shock to the palate I was done, but said I might return for brunch on Saturday, the next day.

Saturday comes around, and I'm back. The bartender (Scottie or Scotty) gives me a high five and a "Welcome back". A bit weird, since I don't remember him from the day before. But he knows where I sat and what I had, so kudos, that's how you make someone feel special and welcome. Scottie overall was just a great dude, funny and quirky. Ended up chatting to his girlfriend at the bar, and damn, those two are people I could hang out with any day. Had biscuits and gravy, which was good, and a few more beers. Big thanks to Scottie for making Lord Hobo one of the highlights f my Boston trip.

I really enjoyed Lord Hobo, beer was fantastic, loved the vibe and the staff, and food was good. Whenever I get back to Boston, I will stop in here.

This was the last spot on my bar crawl for my birthday. I initially had to wait in line with my party, but it was only for a few minutes on a busy Saturday night. From what I understand, this establishment is from the guy who brought us the Moan and Dove in Amherst. Being a frequent patron to that bar in college, I definitely noticed some similarities to this bar. The bar was dark with red and black painted walls and lots of art also on display.

The bar was packed but the bartenders did their best to help service my party during the evening. I actually enjoyed how intimate and loud this space was thanks to the ambiance. Still, it might not be for everyone so fair warning on how crowded this small bar can be. Although I only had Lord Hobo Consolation Prize, the bar menu seemed really good quality and selection. Unfortunately I had a train to catch that evening but I really wish I could have stayed longer at this bar.

Overall, if I had more time in my evening and lived near Cambridge, I would definitely frequent this spot often. Certain nights, however, can/might be quite crowded.

Really liked the small space. Was there for a launch of a company from Connecticut, had a decent sour on tap. My only issues with the place were the service and the food. Service wise, a few times where my empty glass was picked up, but was not asked if I wanted another beer. Rudest of all was the gentleman who seemingly couldn't wait for me to sign my tab while never acknowledging me. Food was incredibly disappointing; $17 for a "steak salad"? More like a 3 ounce cut of (cooked properly, good job there) steak with a sprinkling of greens and a poorly "charred" roma tomato. Won't return next time I'm in Boston.

Nice little corner spot with a cozy yet stylish bar and some private-ish nooks here and there. I understand this place can get really busy, but if you show up fairly late it can be pretty mellow, and luckily they are open quite late if you have nothing else to do in this part of town.

Their tap list is very impressive, seemingly always offering their own staples. They also offer numerous other highly regarded or obscure brews of varying styles and regions on draft, as well as a very large list of highly in demand bottles. Some of those bottles may seem scarily overpriced, or maybe not, depending on what part of the country you're from and what you're used to having access to.

Service was inattentive, even at the relatively empty bar, which I rarely ever experience. The food looked and sounded really cool, at a fair price (for Boston), but unfortunately I had already eaten and didn't have a chance to go back during my short stay in Cambridge.

Awesome beer bar. Selection of drafts is outstanding, with 40+ taps of beer from around the world. It was somewhat puzzling seeing some of the very small, lesser-known Vermont breweries on draft - Kind of awesome! Bottle selection is amazing, staff is wildly friendly and knowledgeable, and the tunes are great. I went here both during the day, and at night, and enjoyed both atmospheres (definitely different vibes) very much. This is a place that is a must-visit for anyone traveling in the area.

Stopped in here one night after EBF with a couple friends. The place was pretty full and we had to wait outside to get in. The service was pretty good for as busy as it was. The selection was pretty good along with the food. I'd like to go back when it's less crowded.

They have applied for and gotten a brew on premises license for 2 Canal Park, Cambridge. This was granted before they had signed a lease with the landlord. I don't know about the lease, but I just spotted tools in the empty space today. Not enough to say they are about to lay out a brew house but nobody has so much as swept the floor in there since they gutted the place. I work next door.

GREAT beer bar. Excellent selection. Good vibe, not at all snobby. Even the host, bartender, & waiter were all great. The only knock is the food. While the dish I had was insanely good, it was insanely small. Like criminally small. But you can always order more food so it's a minor knock for me.
