Pleasant nicely carbonated and tangy ale. Huge load of hops. Attractive orange-amber color in the tulip glass. A frothy head that doesn't last as long as you might like. The aroma is nicer than average, with some flowery notes.

Dry malty flavor with some cereal. Big resiny hop flavor with a little fruit, like grilled mango. Some biter orange peel. A hint of pineapple. It tastes in between a regular IPA and a DIPA. A little malty body but taste like it has higher alcohol than the ABV would indicate. Seriously bitter aftertaste. Lighter style of IPA but plenty of hops. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a medium gold color with just over 1/2 inch of white head that had decent retention and lacing.

The aroma had a solid grainy malt base, with a spice I couldn't identify, which isn't unusual from this brewery, and some nice earthy hops. The taste profile was the same, this isn't your typical PNW tongue burning IPA, and had an interesting, if a bit odd, little funk in the background.

The body was a bit fuller than typical, and was very clean across the tongue. Drinkability was nice, I would have it again, but probably not 2 in a row. Overall, an IPA that's a bit different, but nice. Worth trying if you see it.

A: Poured a clear golden color with a small white head, not much on head retention which limits the lacing

S: A bit of citrus on the nose but I get a lot of grassy notes as well.

T: Initial light citrus followed by a grassy, grainy note. The finish is pretty clean, trefreshing with a moderate bitterness

M: Lighter-medium body, well carbonated, clean mouthfeel, not over sweet, cloying

O: A very easy going, easy to drink and basic IPA.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a light haze and a moderate effervescence. Head is a thin layer of frothy ivory foam. Not bad.

Smell: lightly grainy malt aroma with a rather light dose of earthy, floral hops. Not a bad composition, but the strength is a little low for the style.

Taste: earthy, resiney, herbal hops on top of a rather grainy malt base. Perhaps not outstanding, but the tones work together rather well.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation. Nothing to write home about, but it works well enough here.

Overall: a pretty serviceable earthy/grainy IPA. Worth a try if that's your bag.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a fine two finger white head kept full by active carbonation. Aroma of light biscuit malt and faint citrus hops. Flavor is mild biscuit malt, stone fruit, pineapple and light citrus, finishes with citrus and citrus hops leaving a lingering hop bitterness. Medium bodied with pleasant active carbonation. At first I was a little dissappointed by the somewhat mild hops in the start and middle, but I really enjoyed the fruit flavors and malt body and the hops do reassert themselves in the finish. The fruity malt flavors almost lean towards a Belgian pale, which is different. Could use a little more hop character flavor, but overall a nice, well balanced IPA.

Hazy orange amber and thick frothy head with great retention. Citrus and floral aroma. Grassy with light citrus and a spicy sweetness. Moderate bittering and linger. Sharp, low-moderate carbonation with a heavy semi-dry finish.

Nice bittering and good flavor but it's a little too heavy and dark for an IPA. Otherwise, it's an enjoyable hoppy beer.

I grabbed a single of this at my local bottle shop. Hadn't seen it before and when I went to review it....I couldn't find it!

It is an enjoyable IPA. Nice copper color, looks good. Smells good too, nice and fruity.
And the best part is the taste and drinkability. Quite nice.

According to their website, in Norse mythology, Sigrun is a Valkyrie, representing a selection of strong and wise women tasked with deciding who lived and died in battle. On a more personal note, Sigrun (more affectionately known as 'Runa') is the grand matriarch of Odin Brewing. Her name is Old Norse and roughly translates to 'Victory Rune'. Her namesake IPA pays homage to a strong and wonderful woman with a balanced and appropriate character.

New beer, new review.

A: Pale golden with a hint of a head
S: Fruity esters with biscuit maltiness
T: Hearty bitterness with pine resin notes
O: I've been impressed time after time with Odin's but I could take or leave Sigrum IPA. The fruitiness on the nose is a little strange in my opinion and leaves me wanting more balance in the brew. It's an overall positive experience but I've had better IPA's in my day..
