So, usually a chain restaurant has a program of quality control and systematic operations to prevent problems. In this case, the employees have managed to mess it up anyway. I ordered a west coast IPA from a larger independent brewer that has a good reputation. Aside from them not rinsing the glass before pouring, and aside from the scratched-up and dirty shaker glass they use for most of their beers, they managed to include a huge floater of something in the beer and didn't notice it in the walk all the way around these ~250 taps. As would be expected- I sent the beer back and they poured another one.

They tried to explain that it was just yeast. To me it looked like a mold plug the size and shape of the tap faucet. The kind of growth that happens when you don't clean or use a beer tap in months. It had fur and was a solidified mass. I almost expected it to wake up and climb out of the glass. They tried to explain it was just yeast, and had nothing to do with the very-filtered crystal clarity beer that has been on that tap for 3 months. So, it must come from their lack of cleanliness. Not one of the 5 people behind the bar had knowledge of when or how the lines were last cleaned. The response was that they were new and the distributor takes care of that even though no one had seen or been there while it happened.
On top of that, my s.o. ordered a glass of straight fruit juice and it was soured in a very bad way with a smell of fermentation.

Overall, they need to revisit the qualities of a "beer bar" and fix some serious issues. It might be too much to ask for better glassware than shaker glasses but at the very least, the glasses need to be cleaned properly or replaced. Tap lines and faucets need to be cleaned correctly on a more regular basis. And above all else, the staff needs to pay attention to quality of their work and not serve dirty or fouled products.

In all fairness, it could have been a bad day for everyone. Hopefully they address these as I used to enjoy going there to watch the game and munch on some tasty grub with a decent selection of beer.

Food is good, beer selection is average, but they do get some of the rare stuff that you can't find on tap. More of a restaurant than a bar, but good brew to drink. I would recommend stopping by and giving it a try. The food is pretty good, the staff has been friendly every time. Don't expect your waiter to be really knowledgeable about craft beer. If you don't know what you like to drink/order, they sell flights. Be open to order something you are unfamiliar with and drink the entire serving to make your call if you like it. A good place to go/frequent for the rare specialty selection that they get.

This was my first visit to a Yard House. Located in an upscale outdoor mall, my wife and I stopped in for lunch.

Atmosphere was pretty much your standard restaurant/pub. Lots of flat screen TVs showing a variety of sports.

Terrific selection of beers (over 120 on tap) with the vast majority being good to excellent in quality. You won't find many rare or one off beers, but as a visitor from Canada, I hadn't tried approx 80% of the beers (just a guess) so I was really excited. Probably not as exciting to someone who can get all of these beers in their city/area, but for a tourist it's great.

Food was your standard casual restaurant and pub fare. Was done to our specifications, came out quickly and very tasty. Service was great. Server wasn't extremely knowledgable about beer, but knew enough to guide your average patron if not a beer geek.

I was very happy with my visit and could have spent our whole vacation there. If I'm ever in a city with a Yard House in the future, I will definitely make sure to stop in for a visit.

Rating this place is kind of difficult. The food is good, it's certainly up scale but has the feel of being mass produced. The atmosphere can feel intimate at times but then at other times like a sports bar. They have a good selection of beers on tap, good craft and Belgian selection. I was able to have a fresh Ruination, which is hard to find here, so I can't complain about that. Our service was good and friendly. It is some what pricey and very touristy. The nice thing about the yard house is that if/when I get tired of shopping with my girlfriend I can go there for a drink. There are other places I would rather go, but I wouldn't turn it down if I was staying in the area and wanted a good beer.

A - Tucked away with the corners of an otherwise ordinary shopping mall, Yard House presents an amazing sense of atmosphere when you walk in. Light darts in and out of the space's angles, highlighting large conduits carrying beer from their cold room to the bar. It was lively and rocking when we went, with classic rock pulsating throughout the space. I thought it was great.

Then it went downhill.

Q - all the beers tasted exactly the way we expected. Average in this respect.

S - Horrid at best. I consider myself a pretty big beer geek and take offense to a server showing up 20 minutes after we were seated, stumble through his open spiel, then proceed to recommend we try this really neat beer called "Shock Top" (an unsoliced suggestion). Normally I would ignore this and move on, but then we got ignored by the server for long stretches at a time. Food arrived cold and when we asked if there was anyway to re-heat it, he disappeared to "check on that" for 15 more minutes, by then we had decided to just go ahead and eat it cold. The best thing about our server was that at least he was trying, unlike the rest of the staff we saw spending most of their time chatting with one another around the service well.

S - For a place that boasts the world's largest draught beer selection, we couldn't find anything that we couldn't get at any other bar that serves good beer. Of the 130 offerings they claim, my boyfriend and I coundted 29 (that we knew of) from A-B or MillerCoors. Only 5 selections from within the state of Texas (Drink Local, ever heard of it?). The only thing that salvages this from not being a "1" is the sheer volume of selections, even if they were rather average.

F - What we had was almost decent, unfortunately just cold. Way overpriced, however.

V - No value at all. If I was in New York, I would find the prices average. Since I'm in Texas, they are insulting. A pint of Dos XX will set you back $6. WHAT? (Note, I didn't order this, just noted it). Shock Top is $6.25?!?!?!?! WHAT WHAT WHAT? Seems like this is a place taking advantage of their location to rip off customers. But they were packed, so I guess it's working for them.

Was attending a conference at the near by Westin La Cantera resort and stumbled across the Yard House during some down time. My first visit to a Yard House.

This Yard House had been open for about one year. Very large bar and indoor sitting area. The outdoor patio has a large number of tables, however, this location is in a retail area making the outdoor experience average at best. Inside was very busy and noisy, however, the atmosphere was good.

Service was excellent, had very little wait time and the beer along with the food arrived very timely. The beer was served at a nice temperature and the food arrived hot. Shelly, from Oregon, was our server on both occasions. She was very friendly, efficient and had a very good beer knowledge. Look for her if you visit this location.

They promote 130 beers on tap, the two times I visited there were 108 which is plenty. Very nice selection of beer, I was pleased that they had Deschutes which you can never find in the East.

Food was very good, I highly recommend the calamari appetizer. The seafood was very good, I enjoyed the fresh catch, tilapia and the Jambalaya.

The beer and food is a bit pricy, however, you get very good pricing during Happy Hour.

I would definitely visit this location again, I hope the Yard Houses are as good in other locations.
