Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Best by date of '09 01 2019'.
Dark brown body. Pinkish read color when presented to light. Fizzy cap settles to thin ring. Just a couple spots of lacing.
Aroma is tart, sweet, sour, oaky, cherry, green apple, vinous dark grape.
Taste is sweet, tart, sour, cherry, green apple, vinous dark grape, oaky/tannin.
Medium mouth feel with good level of carbonation.
Standard bearer for style. Refreshing, and great balance of smells and tastes. A sour beer done very well.

330ml bottle poured into an oversized wine glass.

Mildly hazed and deep ruby brown in color with medium frothy light brown head that stands with good retention, it gradually collapses to a lasting bubble on the surface and leaves some lacing patch and spot on the glass-side.

In a nose, sour, tart, sweet, oaky, cherry, dark grape, ripe apple, acidic, red wine, and slight peppery.

Sourness and tartness lead through the taste with its cherry and dark grape flavors along with subtle peppery spice. Lots of red wine character here with notes of acidic, dryness, tannin, and oak. There is sweetness too but not that much, just a supplement.

Medium body with smooth mouthfeel and lively yet fizzy carbonation, the feeling is crisp and very refreshing with a very dry finish from all those sharply sour and tart profiles sweeping through the taste buds. So good Flanders Red Ale.

Sadno, balzamično, kislo, wannabe vino, pa vseeno pivo. Zelo aromatično. Ko se navadiš balzamičnega, začutiš vinsko, nato sadno aromo črni češenj, višenj in na koncu nekaj lesa. Lepe rdeče bakrene barve. Bistro. Okus balzamično kisel, intenzivno saden s poudarkom črne češnje, višnje, ribeza. V pookusu les, mlečna kislina. Prijeten občutek v ustih. Srednjega telesa.

Sizzles like a steak on the pour, and right out into a thin rim in 30 seconds. Dark brown, dusty body, touch of red like mahogany.
Aroma of tart cherries, black currant, acidic.
Sweet and tart cherries, fairly well balanced, with a dry finish, puckering; touch of woodiness; light carbonation and medium body.
It's a simple, pleasantly sour brew, but a bit too sweet for me.

L: Beautiful red-brown with generous, pillowy head. Head receding relatively quickly (a minute or two).
S: Cherries to the fore, underlying smell I can't quite put my finger on
T: Sour cherries, tart; wish more of the local sours could pull off this flavour.
F: Carbonation bubbles up into the nose. Viscous on the tongue.
O: This is a spectacular red ale that is note perfect on the sour cherries. Some oak character on the finish. Wonder if the oak will be more pronounced as this beer ages. It came in a small 330mlL bottle. First time I've seen it in the LCBO. Hope it continues to appear.

Pours red with light tan head that reduces down to 1/8". Initial smell is similar to salt and vinegar chips. Along with the slight vinegar flavor there is also cherry flavors with slight lemon aftertaste. Great beer overall.

I have a buddy who loves belgian beers he gave me a bunch to try this was the first one and it didn't appeal to me, it seemed lighter than most Ale's I drink and had a weird funk taste I can't put my finger on.
