First off the bat, this is definitely not a beer bar. Just a really good sushi restaurant that happens to have a few craft brews available on tap and in bottles.

Food: Great, fresh sushi and tons of variety. Presentation is always great. Clean and creative. Have not tried any of the fish entrees but they always look really good. I just can't bring myself to forego the awesome sushi. Soups are really good and worth getting as an appetizer. Crab soup and miso soup are favorites.

Service: Always attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Don't make you feel stupid when you ask what different kinds of sushi rolls, etc. are. We've always had a friendly waiter.

Atmosphere: Very modern and clean. Dark inside but the patio outside is really nice in the spring and summer. Really cool fire pit. The bar area is somewhat small but there are plenty of seats within the actual restaurant. Would be nice if the TV's in the bar were a bit better placed to watch games. Not the quietest of restaurants but the noise has yet to actually bother me.

Drinks: A much better wine list than beer list. I've always appreciated that they've had good white and red wines to accompany my sushi. Saki available as well. They have the standards on tap and in bottles for Virginia (Bud, the Lights, Blue Moon, Sapporo) then they have a few local beers (a couple Lost Rhino offerings, Dominion, Devil's Backbone).

Overall a really great place for food and wine. Not the best place to grab a craft beer but it will do the trick if you're nearby and not looking for anything rare or out of the ordinary.

This is a large seafood/sushi restaurant with a very modern high-tech loungy appearance. Pretty cool and expensive looking inside with a restaurant, sushi bar, and beer/wine/liquor bar. The owners are apparently micro-brew fans, since you will not find a single macro-brew on premises! This is what brought me in the door...my wife came along since they are supposed to have the best crabcakes in the DC area (according to Washingtonian Magazine).

There is a decent-sized bar area with about 8 beers on tap and another 15 or so in bottles. Unfortunately the draft system was broken when I visited, so I can't comment on that. But I did have a Stone Ruination in a bottle (actually two of them), both of which tasted very fresh. There is also (according to their website) a large sake list as well, though I don't remember seeing it at the bar. It might be available at the sushi bar in the back of the restaurant.

Service was impeccable, even on a busy weekend evening. We hit the bar while waiting for a table, and the bartender was a definite beer fan. He said they have a happy hour with $4 drafts every weekday. Haven't tried it yet.

Food was very good. I will say that we were somewhat disappointed in the crab cakes - they were a little rubbery. When you've got the title of "best in DC" (and charge a high fee for them) you've got to back it up, and at least on the night I visited, they did not back it up. Maybe we just got unlucky. Everything else we ate was very good though (I had the salmon, and we had a couple of appetizers).

Definitely going back soon for happy hour to see the full beer list. I will update my review with more info.
