A slightly cheaper place than next door at KnB Wine Cellars. They also have cheap subs that are pretty good. Selection is pretty decent. This is a supermarket (think Trader Joe's), so not a lot of help, not like you would really need it here.

Windmill Farms was located in the La Mesa area of San Diego. It's an upscale grocery store like Bristol Farms. The beer selection was nice. They had beers both in coolers and outside. The selection was good. I saw your standard local and imported craft beers.

It's a nice place to pick up some beers and shop for groceries.

Because KnB wasn't enough of a place for beer next door, Windmill Farms is a grocery store that offers an impressive selection of beers. The interior is very roomy and easy to get around, and the departments are easy to locate. The beer is too, which nearly all sits in the cold box across from the service deli.

Bombers of beer and multi-packs make much of the selection, though will you also see 330 ml bottles of Belgian beers. Samuel Smith's, Stone, Erdinger, Ayinger, Allagash, Victory, and much more are available.

Multiple check out lines made checkout quick, even at 4:30 in the afteroon. While it make not hold as much beer as KnB, Windmill Farms still holds a respectable amount.

Nice local grocery store (comparable to a Henry's, I think) - wish this was closer to where I live now! The beer section looks somewhat small for a grocery store, but it really isn't as they've got lots of single bottles (bombers, 750mLs, etc.). The focus seems to be on a lot of less common local beers (AleSmith, Green Flash, Mission, etc.) and other US beers that aren't so easy to get here (Dogfish Head, lots of Allagash, etc.). But they also have a excellent selection of more obscure imports as well - particularly Belgian, but there's a few others as well. The prices are certainly reasonable, and the employees friendly. While there's a lot of overlap with K&B next door (though at generally comparable prices), they definitely do have stuff that you can't find next door, and seem to stock bombers of Mission/Green Flash/etc. a bit better than K&B.

This place is a secret next to a well known beer spot. Located right next to K&B wine cellars, Windmill has a relatively small selection, but they do get in some rare beers and they sell at a great price.

They have most of the basic San Diego staples like year round Stone, Ballast point, GreenFlash, Karl and others....but they also will get in some rare beers...cuvvee de tomme, Brewdog paradox, World wide stout among others!

I haven't been able to meet the people in charge of the beer yet, but I am sure they know what they are doing. The beer coolers and racks are tucked in the back of the store in a nice cool spot.

a bit small but what they have is great and rare. nice small cooler. good selection from all over. amazing prices. all the rare russian river brewing beers, alpine, limited ballast stuff. easy to get to, right off the 8 and college ave. but again, the prices are cheap and they have the rare stuff. good selection of 6 packs, but mostly a place for solid bombers and 750ml selections. they get the seasonal brews. busy market but when i ask for help or about a beer they are on top of it. also stacks of the normal stuff are up by the registers and around the coolers.
