Had a pint with brunch at the FPBC Grill and Tap in north Scottsdale today for $2.00.

Pint was served with a small nitro head.

Nose was mild roasted sweet malts.

Taste followed the nose; medium roasted malts were sharp enough to grab the palate's attention with hopping adequate enough to keep the sweet malt base balanced fairly well.

Mouthfeel was light and not overly satisfying.

Overall a decent flavored beer that is worthy of a shot.

First had at Four Peaks, Terminal 4, PHX, on draft into pint tumbler. Rather authentic, light (on the oatmeal and otherwise) English-style stout, with all the good and bad inherent in the style.

Got a pint of the Oatmeal stout which was to my surprise served nitro style. It was pitch black with a good 2 finger foam head. The mouthfeel was obviously soft and a pillow to my tongue. The was of a slight chocolate taste with a mild bitterness. Aroma was roasty coffee nose and overall a solid stout.

On nitro into a shaker pint.

black opaque in color, with the thick nitro head. roasty aroma. taste is on the drier side for an oatmeal stout. typical nitro mouthfeel - soft nitro bubbles and full mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewery. From notes. Reviewed 9 January 2016.

Black dark. Mocha head.
Smells like chocolate and deliciously roasted malt. Some toffee.
Rich and creamy, with little other than sugars going on in the maintaste. Hint of caramelization. Milky and fun.
