Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pie...

Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.

Pours a golden amber with yellow hues. A creamy head of bone white foam that falls quickly and leaves spots of lace. beautiful clarity and only a few bubbles lazily wafting to the top. Nose is malty with a little soft sweetness and a bit of cracker. Sweet lemon peel and earthy grapefruit peel. Some sweet grass and a bit of pine that also has a sweet little backing to it. A bit of simcoe spice that I would call tangy. The taste is wonderful. Fruity and juicy. A bit of lemon, grapefruit and a nice little orange that is fresh and lightly sweet. The pine is soft and sweet on the palate and so is the malt. The malt is more crisp than it smelled on the nose and it comes right up to the definition of west coast style mouthfeel before it takes just one shy step over. The hops give an herbal quality at the back palate that is broad and leafy. This one finishes dry and with a lovely bitter that does not start on the mid palate. It starts at the swallow and then resonates back leaving you with a surprise bit of crisp cracker and some of that lovely light orange.

Draft at PHX location. Medium golden, small thin head leaves film across the glass. Lazy carbonation, heavy weight. The rest is pretty much standard IPA, actually kind of mild. Not great, but better than most airport options.

Color is that of clear amber Anda bubble head with some retention.
Citrus, I get oranges.
Grapefruit rind and orang zest in the taste, pine notes.
Has balance, good carbonation and a light to medium feel.
At 18 $ per 15 pk it's worth buying more from time to time e.

Good IPA at a very reasonable price. Smell and taste are the same. Not overwhelmingly hoppy but enough to satisfy a hop head like me. Would buy again for sure

Kind of flat. No citrus. A decent bitter but SanTan HopShock superior. Refreshing. I been buying and trying regional IPAs, and trying to stay under 10$/6. So far my rankings of Southern AZ brewery IPAs:

1. SanTan
2. Dragoon
3. Barrio
4. Four Peaks

I would not bother trying this IPA. Get SanTan or Dragoon or heck, Coors Banquet.

Bottle pour- clear medium orange/gold with white head leaving frosty lacing. Nose is mild citrus and pine with hints of sweetness. Taste follows more or less with a bit of malt at the back. Finishes relatively clean and inoffensive. Forgettable in a sea of stellar competition.
