Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.70%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pie...

Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.

Definitely a great looking and great tasting IPA. Four Peaks is a great brewery and this beer is an excellent example of their prowess. Taste is balanced between hops and wheat nearly like a white IPA but not quite. It's just robust enough to let you know it's an IPA but it's gentle enough to enjoy time and time again. Outstanding, really and I highly recommend it

Had this on 2015-06-21 in Phoenix, AZ at their pub at the airport. On tap

Grapefruit and floral aroma. Citrus and pine flavor. Decently bitter.

Delightful discovery of a trip to Arizona.
Very bummed to find that it is not available in the area where I live.

Had this on-tap at the brewery earlier this evening. Served to me in standard pint glass, this beer is a clear, medium amber color with a nice fluffy looking head that is about an inch thick when first poured. Settles to a good 1/4 inch thick with excellent lacing. Eventually settles to a nice thick ring lining the inside of the glass with some decent lacing. Has an aroma of caramel malt sweetness followed by lots of earthy, citrus, earthy hops. Has a good caramel malt sweetness flavors upfront that is followed by the aforementioned citrus, earthy, and herbal hop flavors. Has a good balance of flavors. Also has a mainly crisp, slightly prickly, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Easy drinking in the way an IPA like this should be. A solid beer all around. Good, but not outstanding.
