Kilt Lifter is our award-winning flagship brew, crafted in the tradition and honor of the great strong ales of Scotland. Take one sip and you’ll swear it had been brewed by men in kilts—and maybe it was. It’s a full-bodied ale with pronounced flavors of caramel and roasted barley. Notice its amber color, malty sweetness and a hint of smokiness with a clean dry finish? That’s a true Scottish-style ale.

Pounder can from Westgate Hotel shop. Dark-ish amber, frothy head fades fast to ring. Aroma is sweet, candy sugar and toffee. Where is the earthy, peaty notes? Taste too is very sweet, root beer barrels, toffee and candy sugar. None of the malts come through. I know its an AB Inbev joint, but still, I expected better.

Had on tap. Clear lighter brown body with a tan frothy head and sporadic lacing. Caramel malt, earthy yeast with a hint of peatey smoke in the nose. Taste is sweeter and malt centric, some dark fruit which is nice but I want more from the earthy yeast that balanced the nose so well. Feel is silly smooth, light in a good way, malty and has a yeast kiss on the finish that really works but wish it was earlier

An easy drinking Scottish style ale friends brought back for me when in Az. Am partial to scotch ales so my interest was peaked. Poured a copper amber color with not much of a head,no lacing to speak of and excellent clarity. Carbonation was slight and had nice aromas of malts, caramel and toasted grain. Body was a bit lacking, (probably from the wheat), but had to remember this was a Scottish style not full blown. Taste followed nose and was enjoyable with a nutty caramel semi dry finish. Nothing fancy here but flavorful enough to keep it interesting.

Easy-drinkin’ Scotch-style. Light but pleasant and you can enjoy a couple of them.

Clear copper/amber color with a moderate tan head that recedes fairly quickly.
The aroma is caramel malt, with a trace of peat smoke.
The taste is mildly sweet caramel malt, plums, hint of fresh bread, hints of smoke.
The body is medium heavy, moderate carbonation, very smooth, very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a pleasantly malty brew, very smooth and very tasty.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of fluffy foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of smoked malt, toffee, peat and caramel. It tasted a little smoky with caramel, toffee and earthy notes.
