Six Mile Saison has a cloudy, golden body with a small white head that has OK retention and leaves behind minimal lacing.
Big aroma of fruit, with some pale malt a bit of phenols behind it.
If I were to taste this beer blind, I would have guessed that it is a Belgian Pale Ale, and not a Saison. Big fruit notes dominate the beer, with generic light fruit and hints of both apple and cherry. Next comes a good amount of pale malt, and a sugary sweetness. A little bit of spicy, phenolic character comes next.
This body has no where near the carbonation required for a top-shelf saison.
Not a terrible beer, but not one that fits well into the saison category. The fruit becomes a bit cloying.
