This review is coming from notes.

Red Rooster Espresso Stout has a body that is the darkest shade of brown, completely opaque, and appears to be almost black. The head is about a finger tall and dark brown in color. Retention is OK, and a few spots of lacing remain on my glass.

The aroma has a good bit of coffee in it, and some black patent malt. Pretty good.

Red Rooster is a very straight forward beer that leans heavily on coffee, which should not be a surprise based upon the name. Although straight forward, it is also well-done. Lots of coffee comes through right up front, with a strong, black coffee flavor. No bitter or acrid flavors are present. Backing up the coffee is some black patent malt and a little bit of sweetness. Very low bitterness floats around in the finish.

A little thin in the body, with carbonation that is a touch low.

This is easily one of the best beers that I have tried at the Bandwagon. It is definitely worth a shot if you are there during $3 beer time. With that said, however, there tends to be a good bit of batch variation, so what you get may not be the actual beer that I reviewed.
