AJ Luke's Liquors of Dennis Port

First timer. Nice selection of craft beers which was what I was looking for. I ALWAYS look first for locally brewed stuff. Found some.

 

 

 

Hit this one on the way to our rental in Harwichport. A little more compact than the one right down the road, and that can be seen most in the beer section. Still plenty of cooler space devoted to beer, and about half of that is BMC, but the shelf of single/mix bottles is much smaller. This store did have a handful of growlers from local breweries, which I didn't see at the other location. As always, check the dates of the beers you are buying, as some of the single bottles can be a bit old for the style. The store also sells wine and liquor, and most of the store is devoted to the booze. The workers at this store didn't venture far from behind the counters, and when I put the beers up to buy they were shocked at the price of some of them.

AJ Luke's has four locations in the Cape Cod area, and for the most part, they are the same.

The store is on the larger side, selling beer, wine and liquor. The selection isn't bad, but you won't find anything "special". There are also very few big bottles of beer - primarily six packs and cases. If what you are looking for is Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, or some local MA beers, Luke's will get you there. If your summer drinking needs consist of BMC products, they have them cheap as dirt.

The stores are clean and well organized, but there is very little in the way of staff help. The only folks I saw were running register, and they did not come out from behind the counter.
