Maybe i'm just cheap but the food is a little pricey, however the pizza and wings are worth every penny. The beer on tap is always different and they have plenty of weekly specials. The seating is a little cramped when it is crowded which is a good sign they are doing something right. They have done what they can to expand the seating so I can't complain, they are balancing an pizzeria with an ample bottle shop. Their wine/bottle shop has a good selection at comparable prices.

First time here, despite multiple visits to Salisbury. I like the idea of bottle shop + pizza! But sadly, when we visited in early autumn 2015 they had closed the bottle shop part and are now a pizza-only joint.

The bar is comfy but short, and there are several high-top tables and booths to chill and munch on pies.
24 taps of mostly local/regional stuff, including Evolution (d’oh), Dogfish. 3rd Wave, RAR, Yards, Victory… not too exciting, nothing of note. I like that they offer half pours of their beer, and prices are reasonable at $5-$6 per pint.

Also growlers to go, and the pizza is of pretty epic proportions and remarkable yumminess. Their hot sauce is nasty good, pour it all over your pie!

Needed to update an old score. SG is probably my favorite local stop. Everyone is great, but Gary will make sure you get the best on any given day.
Awesome rotating beer selection with two nitros; solid Evo playlist... and plenty of choices from around the country. Love the half pours. Brewery/glass nights. Oh...And they love the big beers...
Old Rasputin on nitro; KBS and CBS drafts; Hopslam, and more. Heaven!
Pizzas are great... but ongoing arm wrestle on whether Key Largo or Whitehaven wings are best dry rubbed wings ever... is worth exploring every trip.
Plenty of TVs... sports oriented; growlers, etc. A must stop if in the Bury.

I love places that can do both beer and food well. This is one of those places.

They're located near Salisbury University in a nondescript stripmall-ish building. But once you step in the door, you get a sense of their commitment. They have a bar on one side and a bottle shop on the other with varied seating in between.

The tap list is solid with several from the local Evolution and several other great choices. We went with the Evolution IPA to go local. But I was very tempted by the Ballast Point Dorado.

And the menu is fantastic with some great pizza and wing options. We went with the Asian sesame wings and a white pizza with chicken and roasted garlic. Both were very good.

Good beer and good food! This is definitely a place I go back to.

Pretty nice, laid back and fun atmosphere,

The service was great, out bartender was really helpful. When we first got there he would talk to us like we did not know much about beer, explaining more basic things to us. Once he saw that I knew a lot, he got a lot more in depth. Good adaptation.

They have a lot of the local beers, and a few others. Not an insane selection, not many bottles. Pretty much all good beer though. Plus, nitro and firkin.

The food was amazing. Their pizza is great, some of the best crust I have ever had.

Overall, can't wait to go back.

Fairly easy to find, near campus, with plenty of parking.

Atmosphere is open and kind of industrial/woodsy on the bar side. 12 taps going, with lots of EVO as expected. Pizza dominates the menu, with several interesting offerings. Crab and roasted asparagus was incredibly good.

Friendly, unobtrusive staff that seemed to know and care about their product.

Well worth a stop if you are in the area. Nice bottle shop in the same storefront (what a great concept) and good coffee to boot.

Make sure you check out the men's room. Well decorated.

A pint or two at Evo and off to Specific Gravity. No food on my mind, just beer.

Atmosphere: Despite two separately labelled entrances, the bar and store are one conjoined room. The restaurant to the right includes a full bar with 10-15 beers on tap. The bottle shop side focuses on wine and beer with beer on the far left wall and coolers.

Quality: Plenty of slate and stonework, along with an unfinished floor, gives the place an industrial feel. Servers greeted me but it tok a while for someone to ring me up.

Service: People were there but a little harried. I had a few minutes to contemplate my purchase before someone arrived to ring me up. I received no help while shopping.

Selection: Good selection, Locals are plentiful, including Eastern Shore, Stillwater, Evolution and Dogfish Head. A few Firestone Walker and New Belgium bottles were around as well. I went with a bottle of Stillwater/Mikkeller Our Side, an Eastern Shore St. Michael's Ale (no, I didn't learn my lesson) and a Sahtea.

Food: Wood ovens and pizza were a speciality but I didn't eat.

Visited July 2011:

If I lived in the area, this would be my regular hang out. I visited on a Wednesday evening and the place was packed, I actually had a tough time finding a seat. The place had a very nice buzz to it. The service was good and the food was much better than I had expected. I tried a couple of the apps and 2 different pies and everything was well made and very good. As for the beer, I was focused on trying the Evolution beers since, as far as I know, have not made it to Atlanta yet. I tried the Exile ESB as well as the Primal Pils. Both were served appropriately and very tasty. Overall, a very good selection of beers and very good food with reasonable prices. If I ever find myself back in the area, I will make a point of stopping in.

The atmosphere is very relaxed, and maybe what you might also call "cheap chic." My wife and I heard about this place in Salisbury that has fresh-made pizzas and craft beer--which, on the Eastern Shore (Delmarva Peninsula) is a big, big deal. So, clearly, we had to go.
I don't know anyone in his or her right mind that can turn down a fresh made pie, which, believe me, is hard to find in the rural south. Add to that the possibilty of some craft beer selections, and you've pretty much got a de facto winner.

The service was very good. When we were there, they had a host of EVO beers on tap, along with a few other choices. I had an EVO ESB (okay, nothing terribly impressive), and attempted to order a Brooklyn Concoction, and proceeded to get into a debate with our server over whether I really wanted it or not. She ended up only allowing myself and my wife to each have a sample of it--I tried and tried to order a full glass to no avail. You can argue that is bad service, but I have to admire a server that sticks to his or her guns (incidentally, Brooklyn Concoction is certainly... different). The server was very familiar with both beer and food selections.

The quality of the food was a bit better than mediocre--our pizza was fresh made, but burned on the bottom (New York/ thin style), and very, very greasy (which isn't totally bad). But the quality of beer selection was pretty good. I found some Buffalo Bill's Orange Blossom Cream Ale and some St. Barnardus, which really, really made my weekend. They also had selections from Stone, DFH, Oskar Blues and more.

It's difficult to argue against the value of a commodity that is rare in one's neck of the woods, so I would say that, despite any shortcomings, Specific Gravity is a total godsend.

OK! My 2 cents!
GREAT selection of craft beer, and constantly rotated. Food is good, but the pizzas are small for the $$.

The biggest downside: PRICE In this small town I can't really see paying $7 for a pint of Hopslam, or similar brew. Of course you usually can't get these kinds of beers on tap anywhere else in town. Maybe it is just me, I have difficulty spending about $35 (with tip) for 4 pints, two each for my wife and I. Another minus: when it is busy it is very noisy, with just 3 long plank tables, and metal walls and ceilings there is no sound absorption.

Pluses: They do have EVO for $3 for happy hour, 3-7, and that is less expensive then the brewery!! Also the place is clean!
For DFH go to Flavors Italian Grill downtown, they usually have 4-5 on tap there, but the bathrooms are consistently pretty filthy, such that my wife won't go there anymore.

After having a couple at Evolution Brewing Company we had some time to kill so we cruised over to Specific Gravity for some wings, pizza and another pint. the Selection of Beer is very good with no crap on tap and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. I took a stroll around the bottle shop which is connected to the Pizzaria which had a very decent selection of Brews including Lagunitas, Stone, Brooklyn, Evolution, Dogfish head and many others.

Our service was very friendly and quick which was exactly what we needed and the Black and Blue pizza was served hot. The steak was so tender and the blue cheese was mild and tasty w/ a nice addition of onion. The wings were cooked well and the Honey Chipotle sauce was sweet with a minimal amount of heat. I would come back based on the beer selection alone, but the food and service were what sealed the deal

First of all let me say that this place is smack dab in the middle of a college town where craft beer in general isnt huge. However, this place is awesome, its owned by the owners of Evo, a pretty legit brewery in delaware. They have 12 craft beers on tap which alternate from time to time. Very diverse selection too, with everything from stone self righteous, to ommegang chocolate indulgence, to magic hat wacko. All of the employees were really nice and a lot of fun to talk to. It was a really chill place with a great atmosphere, great people, great music, great beer, and great pizza. What more could you want?

Specific Gravity is easily my favorite place to go in Salisbury. They are truly in the forefront of the craft beer movement in the area. There are no other bars or restaurants offering the selection of great beers that they do and definitely no other places offering the atmosphere that they do other than Sobo's(both owned by the same people). If you're lucky in this area you'll see one tap with Dogfish or Evolution. Specific Gravity is helping to introduce the area to so many great breweries like Oskar Blues, Rogue, Stone, Lagunitas, Troegs, Southern Tier, and so on. I hope that others in the area follow but I very seriously doubt it.

The pizza and wings are great also and definitely try the fried shrimp appetizer (can't remember what it's called)

Great place and finally, a true upgrade in the unfortunate realm that is Eastern Shore MD beer bars. As a former resident of Ocean City, I make my way back to the area probably every six weeks, and hope, in vain, to find at least one additional place to hit (aside from the 50 minutes I'm certain to drive to Dogfish Head). It never works. There's always the same old stuff, with MAYBE Guinness as a highlight, and usually it's not even that good - standard BMC with a little Yeungling thrown in. The last time (3/1/2010), however, I found this place on Beerfly and was anything but disappointed.

Serving as essentially the Evolution Brewpub, Specific Gravity has a very good beer menu, including about 4 Evo brews (including some special Evo stuff that hasn't been bottled). Beyond that, selection can range from Arrogant Bastard to Shakespeare Stout to Riverhorse Hop Hazard, everything on draft (just a few of the additional titles I remember that day). They're good at rotating their selection too - their twitter updates suggest that when something runs out they tend to replace it with something different. Prices are pretty standard for beer, but they do run some pretty good specials from time to time.

Food is awesome as well. Keep in mind, this primarily a pizza place. So while wings and pizza are your primary menu inhabitants, they're far from ordinary. Good, creative stuff (cheeseburger pizza, covered in fries anyone?), with some really unique flavors (the whitehaven wings are wow). This place would be a solid four stars out of five pretty much anywhere (holding back the last for about 10 more taps), but in the desolate Eastern Shore brewing landscape, it's easily the tops ... consider it your destination for the day before or after Dogfish.

Specific Gravity is a gourmet wing and pizza joint that serves top notch craft beers. It is partially owned by the owners of Evolution Craft Brewing in Delmar DE.

Somewhat small, there is a bar with space for about 12. There are 3 long tables that are for family style or community seating-so room for another 60 or so people. Nice, stripped down feel to it. I have only sat at the bar and the service has been very good. Bartenders know their stuff for the most part, and if they dont know about a specific beer they can certainly steer you towards one they like.

The selection is great for the area. All top shelf beers-no Guinness or Stella taking up tap space here. The 4 main Evolution beers are here-pale, porter,ESB and IPA. At present the also have their Rise Up Coffee Stout. My last stop they had Troegs, Magic Hat Circus Boy, Blue Point Toasted Lager, Victory Old Horizontal, Brooklyn Brown and 2 others. I have seen anything from Stone 09/09/09 to Brooklyn BCS to Storm King to Sams Seasonals. Taps rotate as kegs kick so you could really walk into a whole other line up apart from the Evolution beers. They do have Miller Lite on draft and bottles of BUD, Coors Lite, etc for the non craft drinkers in your crowd.

Food is great. Menu is pretty simple. 5 flavors of wings and several pizzas. Some salads as well. The Key Largo wings are killer-my favorite. They have a Big Mac pizza with hamburger and fries on it which I hear is great as well.

Overall a great place and a wonderful addition to the area. A tad pricey-Evolution Beers are $4.50 a pint, Old Horizontal is $7.00. For this area thats a bit much. Still a very solid place with a great selection for Salisbury and the Eastern Shore, and I can walk home if need be!

They will also be opening a "bottle shop" in the next month or so with all high quality beers, wines and spirits. This will be in the area that is presently empty, right next to the dining area. I did hear the bartender say you will be able to buy a bottle of wine there and have it in the restaurant area but not with the beers or liquors due to local laws.
