Its a solid tasting brown ale. Just what I needed to go with my beer soup and shopping in Galena in - 5 degree weather.

Looks thin for a brown. Mouthfeel is thinner, tastes great. Nutty, malty. Thinner than most. Nice lacing.

This is a good nut brown ale, rich in malty taste, but with hops to balance out. Pours quite dark and nearly opaque with good lacing. Slight suggestion of chocolate from the roasted malts in the nose and taste. Molasses and slight nuttiness present as well. While the malt presents itself up front, the hops give that characteristic clean finish which is on the dry, not sweet side.
Food pairing with savory food (chili, hearty soups, beef dishes) and could even accompany chocolate desserts.
Available year-round on draft, in bottles and in kegs. IBU’s: 25; 6% abv.

On tap at the brewery, review from written notes.
Black body with a mahogany glint in the light. Sticky delicate lacing, long lasting skim. Creamy surface texture to the foam. Roasty, nutty aroma with a similar flavor. Mildly roasty and bitter aftertaste, lightly woody, dark chocolate notes. Smooth. Added to the regular rotation to replace the Hefeweizen apparently... why not make both year round?
