If you haven't been here recently, you should check it out again. Biggest selection of bombers in town. Also, they seem to get the biggest shimpments from shelton brothers. Recommended for anyone passing through or locally.

This place has really stepped it's game up in the last 6 months. New big mix-a-six section and good selection of big bottles of various sizes. Most of the staff has at least above average beer knowledge and several go well beyond that.

This is the closest Hyvee to my house and has a pretty solid selection of beer. The wine/liquor/beer is in it's own section of the store, so you don't have to wonder through the grocery part if you're just stopping in for beers. A majority of the beer at this particular Hyvee is in coolers but there is a smaller section at the end of one isle that sometimes has some hidden gems (Blvd smokestacks, Odell's 750mls, etc...). They have decent selection of Missouri distribution (Bells, Founders, Firestone Walker, Stone, BLVD, Schlafly, Odell's, New Belgium) but not much in terms of Belgian or other European selections. The employees are very friendly and are more than willing to look up or even call if you they get a particular beer in stock. This store has become one of my regular 'beer run' stores when I know something new is suppose to hit our market.

This new HyVee Grocery store was built in a strip mall on the south side of Columbia. It replaced an old Wal-Mart. It has an advantage over the original HyVee that it was built recently in an expanded and growing beer market. Its no secret that the beer scene has taken off in Columbia (and most of America) in the past decade. Because of this the Wine and Spirits section was built with far more cooler space than the other HyVee. With more space the selection is better. I'd say it is second behind Arena in terms of volume of craft beer. The back wall is all beer coolers (half craft/imports and half BMC) with a hug walk-in. The wall adjacent to it is an open cooler with bombers, 750s and 500s. Plus, a solid section of 12oz beers for a build your own six pack. The rest of the open cooler has 6-packs and 12 packs of American craft brews. There were and handful of beers sitting out warm. Good selection and good quality to this point. I just wish this HyVee was 2 blocks away from my house like the old one.
