Poured on-tap at the brewpub and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, pale, yellow-corn color, with a halo of white head. Nose of subtle toasted grains and sweet cream. Flavors are tangy sweet and roasted forward, with a toasted corn backbone. Smooth, light, and balanced in mouth. The aftertaste is light grain and cream again, with a smooth, light, crisp finish.

12/28/17...pours pale gold, almost no foam, very still. Slight citrus nose, pale malts. Creamy malt taste, slight citrus. Reminiscent of a German lager. Quite smooth.

I normally like cream ales but this was my least favorite beer at LAB. It was very light pale, thin, with very little head, was too sour and not creamy enough. It actually reminded me of Genesee Cream Ale which isn't a good sign.

Nice looking beer. Wipe the frost off the glass, very crisp and clear. Not a lot to offer for the nose. Taste was mild mannered non threatening and easy going,a little thin in the mouthfeel.

Appearance: Pale yellow body, minimal haze. Small, white head.
Smell: Scantly bready malts, a whisper of implied cereal sweetness. Very light spice, very light citrus showing from the hops.
Taste: A lightly bready maltiness, even less grain. Restrained sweetness. Small hint of corn. Hops yield a little lemon and a small dot of spice. Low bitterness. Drying on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Simple, sufficient cream ale.

I am going by 1 day old memory here. Went to LaB yesterday and sat down at the bar for lunch after 4 hours on the road. Ordered a "1st Gear" first. I believe it was like a cream ale or something? Anyway, it was a medium auburn color and smelled pretty much like toasted bread. Taste was very mild and watery. Overall a 3. It was okay!
