Huge open industrial looking interior with a great big, winding wooden bar. Brick wallsblack baffled ceiling but no ceiling fans to stir the air. A bit stuffy with the rain coming down. A bit warm as well.
Staff is very friendly and attentive. Service is extremely prompt, I was asked what I wanted even before my butt hit the chair.
The beer is all theirs with no guest taps. Seven brews offered as I write this including a porter and a stout (in August). Oktoberfest, American pale ale, IPA, white ale and one other.
No tv's with sports blaring (yeah!) , clean and welcoming. Definitely worth the stop.

Kinda feel like they think they are a bit more than they really are. That may have to do with it being trivia night.

Easy to find this place on Lexington Avenue at Walnut. Big airy feel as there are garage doors wide open. Some covered outdoor tables. The bar is a weird shape and can seat about 20, and there is rail seating along the windows overlooking the brewing area. Lots of brick and wood for a comfortable feel. The blackboard hanging from the middle of the bar showed eight beers of a different styles. I only had two beers here and they were decent and easy to drink. If visiting town for the first time like I was, it's definitely worthy of a stop.

A pretty good place to check out in Asheville. Their food is good and they source local. The beers were across the board good. Visited twice and it was always packed. Definitely worth some visits!

Decent selection, although a few of the menu-offerings were sold out. Cool atmosphere and fantastic food.

This time we tried out Lexington Avenue Brewery, also called The LAB. We had passed this place several times on our wanders through town, but had saved it for a later evening as it was closer to our hotel. Even on a Tuesday night the place was fairly busy, but we found some seating fronting the sidewalk. The day had been warm and the inside of the brewery was a bit stuffy, but our seat allowed some nice cool evening air to circulate around us, as well as some great people watching as folks walked past. The place is fairly big, with an extensive bar. I liked the feel of it, and can tell there was some good money put into the business.

Our server at LAB was very good and helpful, always a plus in my book. We ordered a sampler so we could try all the beers and some truffled fries that were tasty but difficult to eat as they were shaved so thin. The beers were pretty good overall, with only the cream ale really striking me as not great. My favorites were the light and refreshing Belgian table beer, and the Three Threads Porter, both very respectable beers. This place is worth a visit while you are wandering around Asheville.
