The Back Eddy does have Buzzards Bay on tap. Buzzards Bay Brewing is at 98 Horseneck Road and is owned by the same family that owns Westport Winery. Check out the websites- outdoor concerts $10 a carload

Back to the Back Eddy- the chowder is very good and the fish sandwich. It does get busy in the summer.
Check out the draft and stop on the way out of Westport to check out the brewery and winery

What a gorgeous, fantastic view! But seriously, except for the local IPA, the beer list is suck city. And the food is nothing to write home about except to mention that its really really expensive. My scallops were overcooked and gooey. I know I struggle with scallops at home but I'm a moron in the kitchen. But really, it's the beer list that makes this place a bad choice for beer lovers.

Formally known as Moby Dick's, the Back Eddy is adjacent to the boat launch and across the river from Lee's Wharf.

I'm told this place gets packed for dinner. We had a reservation for 6:30 (They only do reservations for big parities and the woman told us they wouldn't do one after 7pm), and when we got there the place was pretty full. The bar outside also seemed to have a lot of people on it. The parking lot was packed, so we had to park across the street at Buds by the Beach (I think it was called).

The atmosphere is nice, cozy. It tends to get a little loud inside with everyone packed together.

Menu consisted of mostly seafood items. Grilled swordfish, tuna, striped bass, lobster, fish 'n chips, and scallops. I had the swordfish, which came w/ potato & egg salad and greens. Swordfish was good, but not the best I've ever had.

They serve the food to you as soon as it's ready, which is nice. Your food doesn't sit around under a heat lamp. They have a designated person stand by the kitchen and yell "hot food please" and a runner or your waitress will deliver the food to your table. Our waitress was also very nice. The service is really good here.

The thing that sucks about the Back Eddy is their beer selection. They have the standard fair: Coors light, Miller light, Blue Moon, Corona, Narragansett (which taste like absolute piss to me, yet I saw a few people sporting tall boys) and a few others. No craft beers to speak of -- no SA or SN -- except a brown ale from some unfamiliar brewery.

One thing I will say though, about their alcohol in general, is they don't skimp you on wine, meaning you get a full glass... not one filled 1/5 of the way full like at some places.

Overall, this is a place you go to for the food, atmosphere, and the view (of the westport river and the lobster boats across the way), not the beer, or food & beer pairing.
