A: Roasted chocolate malts, light stone fruits, faintly funky and lightly sour.

A: Black color, opaque with a tan head of fine bubbles with adequate retention and lots of lacing in the glass.

T: Roasted chocolate malts, with stone fruit, light oak, faint roast bitterness and a lingering light sourness with a semi-dry finish.

M: Medium bodied with moderately light carbonation, light acidity and a lightly smooth mouthfeel.

O: Excellent; the year of aging has smoothed a lot of the beer’s sharp notes and it now has a great roasted malt aroma and flavor with barrel character and just a touch of contrasting sourness.

A: Deep reddish brown with perfect off white head
S: Lovely sour red currant; hints of raspberries and cherries. Tart.
T: Intensely acidic lacto with plenty of dark, sour fruits similar to the nose. Eases up and becomes much more elegant as it warms a bit.
M: This one is tricky and if you like creamy smoothness for all your beers (I hope not for sours!) then this beer is the opposite. There are pockets of my mouth I didn't know existed that tingle for quite a while after a sip. The brightness and tartness are pretty intense but compliment the flavor profile immensely.
O:Not having a lager category for sours or wild ales is becoming a classification problem for rating these beers...this is a great if very in-your-face beer. If the bottle didn't have too much air in it I would have liked to have cellared this for at least a few years if not 5 or more. It has all the body and flavor with intensity that many of the great Belgians possess and will become a thing of beauty.
