Pours a copperish amber color. The foam head is not the most retentive, but it leaves behind some sticky lacing.
Aroma: a sweet, caramely aroma.
Taste: Sweet carmel malts balanced with some grain and a little bit of floral hoppiness in the background. Finishes clean.
Overall: quite the enjoyable brew.

Dark copper to brown in color with a fingernail of brown on top. The aroma is of dark, bready malt. I’m tasting overly sweet dark malt. The mouth is fairly easygoing and unobtrusive.

Pours a strong amber in color, slightly off white head on the top in the 2/5" range. Aroma gave hints of nuts, leaves and Oktoberfest.
Taste was a smooth, kind of amber/red lager malt contributions, minimal sweetness, average heft. The hopping is just barely there, under 25 ibu in accordance with tradition. Carbonation on point, the caramel of the amber colored malt is flavorful yet not heavy throughout the entire mouthfeel. If someone is into this style, I think they're gonna be down with this version. The nuttiness isn't heavy either. Certainly the best thing is the appearance, she is a sexy beer. But while I can get down with the notion of that this is a better than average beer, I can't see me wanting more than 6oz of it at a time either. Decent price, oh and the lager yeast wasn't a strong one, it was more out of the way, which is also traditional.

Reading the top reviewers of Sudwerk's 5.3% ABV marzen (many of whom said it lacked a bigger mouth), I conclude the brewer increased the malt.
With the new recipe at 15 IBU, I find this 5.7% is a balanced and satisfying marzen.
Looks like its contemporaries and, also, Smells mostly of malts. As noted, Tastes are balanced with the IBU low. Feel is fine.
OA: Would I have this again? Probably not because there are so many more marzens worth repeating.

Nice coppery, caramel color slightly opaque. A hint of yeast. Sparking in the mouth crisp and refreshing. Overall a beer I say einz, zwei, g'suffa!

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and slight lacing. Smells of caramel malt, sweet malt, biscuit, slight spicy hops, slight yeast, and slight pale malt. Fits the style of a Marzen / Octoberfest. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, spicy hops, slight citrus hops, pale malt, yeast, slight caramel malt, hint of wheat, slight tea, and a hint of alcohol. Overall, decent aroma and blend, body is more tea and hop-centric than I'm accustomed to, but good aroma.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, toffee and citrus. Sweet toffee, toasted caramel with a nice bitter bite.
