Pints O'Plenty is an amazing home brew shop! Doug has a massive selection of top of the line brews and wines! Doug is one of the greatest store owners I've came across. He is extremely knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to help his customers. I get excited every time I go because its always been a great experience! Doug even offered to come and help me make my first batch of beer! It was a learning to say the least! He is an expert on the topic of home brewing and just a all around fun guy.

V: A tiny place place on a side street in the suburbs, this is an unexpected gem. They cram a lot of different beers (sorted by style) into a small space. There are also sections of wine, beer, cider, and a substantial amount of homebrew supplies. A cozy little spot.

Q: A pretty high level of quality - no stale stuff here.

S: The service - one of the owners - was very friendly and quite knowledgeable about the products (and she had her three dogs as company).

S: A solid selection of beer, all in bottles and cans. A pretty good amount of state / local brews (Reaver Beach, Hardywood, Lickinghole Creek), national (Wicked Weed, Evil Twin, Boulevard), and a few international (Huyghe, Unibroue, Urthel). It's a fairly wide variety of singles with a small cooler in back.

Cool place to be in the Lynchburg area nice to see import beer that is hard to find.A very nice woman was running the shop when I went in.They had some Virginia brews that I can buy elsewhere cheaper. Not a lot of cold beer ready to drink. They had a lot of beers I have not seen. The price look to be a little high. They had Elephant beer that I been wanting to find for a long time it has been year since I had one.Carlsberg Elephant beer I drink back in the 80's was sold in the supermarket imported from Denmark had that kick that US beers didn't.
They sell all their beer by the bottle it look like.I like to buy a 6 pack of one beer that I like. They have had a big bottle of St. Bernard Abt 12 I mean big over a foot tall for over $100.00 signed by the monk that made it.
This is the best store I know of in 100 miles or better to find a good selection of hard to find beers.I will return here from time to time.
If in the area stop buy some beer and enjoy. They also have wine and home brewing items.

Pints O' Plenty is a warm, friendly store packed with amazing craft beer and beer making supplies. Doug and his wife Lee run the shop, they can both tell you anything you want to hear about any of the brews they sell.

Doug gives lessons in his shop if you want to learn how to brew beer, the stuff he teaches you how to brew tastes amazing, nothing like what you can buy in the supermarket. He is also a wealth of information if you have questions about brewing beer.

If you walk into the shop wanting to try something other than miller and coors but are overwhelmed by the choices, all you have to do is ask Doug or Lee what they recommend and they will steer you in the right direction.

Located in an antique mall building, you would think that there would be a limited selection, but it has everything you would find at a larger store. The owner, Doug, keeps a great selection and is very helpfull. They have all the suppiles, can grind for you. They also have wine making supplies. The prices are very good, less than you can find on the net, and you do not pay shipping. Well worth stoping by. They just added coffee as well. Doug will be adding bottles of craft beer soon too. Really a great addition to our town.

Update 1.29.11 - My wife went into the shop just before Xmas and talked to Doug for a bit about what to get me. He put together a fantastic Cherry Wheat from scratch. Thanks again Doug for all the help - Lucian

I decided to get into homebrewing and purchased a kit from Doug at Pints O' Plenty. His prices are very competive with the online retailers. As we were finalizing the purchase he informed me that he would come by the house to help me with my first batch. On brewing day he called in advance to ensure we were still on and showed up right on time. What happened next was a three hour class on homebrewing that was second to none. His payment? All he would accept was a snifter of Chimay. If you are thinking of getting into the homebrew hobby or you are in need of supplies the only way you will find a better deal is if you have someone paying you to take them.

I just decided to start brewing beer at home again and decided to stop by Pints O' Plenty. I came in with a print-out of an Arrogant Bastard clone. Doug Johns (proprietor) put together a kit for me to best match the recipe, and then came to my house to show me some tips when I did my first batch.

Doug is the most experienced, knowledgeable and humble brewmaster I've had the pleasure to meet. His prices are also below what can be found on most Web sites (not even including shipping!). He has a degree in Chemistry and Biology, and it shows - his knowledge of the brewing process is an exceptional resource in little-old Central Virginia.
