A - Golden, slight head that dissipates quickly with a little lacing

S - American hops. Grapefruit and citrus.

T - Not much malt to back up the hops. I love hops, but that's all this is.

M - This is where this beer fails. Way too watery for the style. This may be good if it had any malt backbone to support the hops.

D - Light body would make putting down several of these easy, but why bother when it's at the low end of taste for an IPA.

Poured into a Spaten tumbler. A cloudy dark or burnt orange color. A large amount of very small carbonation bubbles rise to leave a small one finger, off white, creamy head. Lace is around to the end in a nice ringed and patchy pattern.

Smell is quite a bit of citrus hop notes. There is just a slight bread smell and some alcohol is there too.

Taste is very odd. It almost tastes like an underaged Barleywine. Rich light malts, that are sweet. There is also some tartness going on here. As it warms it changes just a bit. The sweetness becomes more of a fruit, maybe a nectarine mixed with a the bitterness of a yellow grapefruit, as apposed to the malt (undefined) sweet from the start. It is quite bitter so I might be getting tongue buckled??

Mouth is very spot on for the style. Carbonated great and leaves nothing left to question. A bit of warm from the booziness late in the throat or belly.

Overall I enjoyed this one. I am told that this might be the first bottling of this so good luck to the new brewery. Like I said in the Taste, I might have been a little pallet whipped. Regardless, this is most defiantly worth a try. Thanks to HandsomeBrew for this extra.

Half pint at Black Swan Brew Pub, Plainfield, IN. Poured a decent light golden copper color with a bit of nice head and lacing. Very nice scent, with a bit of sweetness very much overladen with semi-citrus aroma. Nice flavors, with a good sweet malt backing to a very nice mostly-citrus hop hit at the end that leaves a nice aftertaste on the tongue. Goes down quite well.

Relatives picked up this growler for me when I came to visit from out of town.

A- Poured a beautiful amber color with a hardly noticable head. Lacing was very minimal as well.

S- Smells of hops, pine, caramel, and a touch of citrus fill the nose. A tiny note of ethanol pokes through.

T- Slight citrus and bread. The pine and caramel were much more present in the aroma rather than the taste. The aftertaste consists of a harsh, bitter, rubbing alcohol.

M- Very wattery and under-carbonated for an IPA. It's very lacking in the body department.

D- Due to the lack of body and carbonation, this beer is very easy to put away. Could drink all day.

A: Clear amber, reddish color. Absolutely no head when poured; none when swirled either.

S: Pretty good smell; citrus and bread.

T: Very bitter and a bit acidic. Off the start is bit watery and then like the smell. Long finish, but goes bad after a couple seconds. After quite a while almost goes a bit like vomit.

M: Pretty average.

D: The alcohol is fine, but the taste prevents drinking more than like two.

Had on tap....

A- Poured a amber color with golden overtones. One finger white head shows good retention. Nice streaky lacing on the sides of the glass.

S- Bready malts with some light rye character dominates most of the aroma I think. Nice citrus hops used in this one to balance everything out.

T- Some light piney hops in the front of this gives good flavor. Middle of the beer is some caramel bready malts with some light rye to it. Nice bitter hops come about in the ending once again to give a good last uhmph to it.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was a little light I thought. Citrus hops are left on the palate with bitter hops in the aftertaste with a kiss of alcohol. Hop forward beer that doesn't really get balanced overall. Lots of drying on the palate from the alcohol.

D- This beer is once again a one and done for me. It was good but destroyed the palate if you wanted another beer. The ABV on this isn't hidden real well but I would want to drink other things first.
