A - Light gold with barely a trace of head

S - Very roasty/earthy tones.

T - Pretty awful. Roasted malts with too little hop bitterness for the style.

M - About right for the style, but felt very light and watery with all the bready/roasted malts in the flavor profile.

D - Most people's beers range from average to excellent for me, but back to the drawing board on this one. Just didn't work at all. Could barely get through the glass.

Poured with a nice half inch bone-white head that quickly collapsed and left little trace it existed. Smell is oddly of coffee and blackstrap molasses for such a light beer. Beautiful crystal clear orange color with brown highlights.

Trent pale ale has a surprising roasty malt flavor; unusual in a pale ale. At first the taste is peculiar, almost yeasty, but then the flavor mellows. Tapped too young? Or perhaps the recipe needs a few tweaks? Hops didn't become evident until the pint was half finished, and then they were only suggestive of bitterness.

Ends a little muddled and muddy. I was hoping for more aggressive hopping; perhaps even a creative combination--something with some citrus or tropical flavor would go a long way towards a unique new APA flavor profile.
