One of the strongest burnt chocolate aromas I've hit.NO carbonation. Taste is true to the smell, which doesn't seem to be fading with time. The taste of a much stronger beer in a 5%.

On tap at the brewery.
A - Dark brown borderline black pour with thin caramel colored lacing and no carbonation.
S - Dark chocolate and hazelnut with a hint of creme dominate the nose.
T - Some roasted malt with hazelnut and creme, light char pops up on the very back end and ends with a nice lingering chocolate bitterness.
M - Big medium body with soft silky slick feeling and no carbonation. Has the texture is a cask beer (even though it's not).
O - A flavorful beer but wish it had some carbonation. Flavorful but flat.

Aroma is big hazelnut and coffee. The flavor is hazelnuts/nutty, dark malts, chocolate, slight fruit and a mix of mild salt and acidity in the finish.

Have had both at Quaff ON!/Big Woods in Bloomington, and at Big Woods Pizza/Quaff ON! in Nashville, Indiana, each time on draft into tumbler.
Brewed with hazelnut and coffee, there is a lot going on in this lighter but well-balanced sweet Stout.

This is my this is my first review. The first thing I notice about this beer is it has a great dark look and it pours easy. It has a strong coffee smell almost smells a little like burnt coffee. The taste is not what I expected it's very sweet while still carrying a strong taste of burnt coffee that just kind of overpowers everything else there's a slight hazelnut finish but it doesn't really shine through in the coffee in the taste of the burnt coffee and the sweetness are so conflicting it's almost overpowering. As far as how it drinks it's exactly what you'd expect for the feel of a milk stout and it's how it should be I feel like this would be a far more enjoyable beer if the hazelnut shine through a little more and the taste of burnt coffee wasn't so strong. But don't let my opinion dissuade you try this beer for yourself.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear extremely dark brown approaching jet black in color with a light amount of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy dark tan head that quickly reduces to a small patch of very thin film and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of slightly sweet hazelnut over the top of just shy of moderate aromas of lactose and roasted malts. Hints of coffee.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of roasted malts with a slightly stronger than moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of coffee and moderate flavors of slightly sweet hazelnut. Light amounts of roasty bitterness towards the finish which fades away quickly leaving a light to moderate amount of lactose + hazelnut sweetness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Nothing special but still an enjoyable beer - wish the coffee flavors and aromas stood out more and that there was a hint less lactose sweetness. Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol.

Rich dark black color, smells of coffee and hazelnut. Rich bold taste. I wish this was an actual coffee flavor with this receipe without the alcohol. Beyond words describe this beer
