Got this on tap and was nicely impressed. This should warrant a very good when enough reviews have come in.

L - Beautiful, golden, unfiltered ... 1 finger head that sticks around

S - strong lemon and something tropical

T - overpowering tropical (pineapple?) flavor with a touch of citrus

F - great strong carbonation goes down smooth with a touch of that thick foamy head that sticks around ... if only I could handle the taste

O - everything was looking great. The smell was strong, not my mood, but not terrible, but then the flavor hit the back of my tongue when I drank it and oh boy was that overpowering and unpleasant.

This one is worth it's weight in gold! The best American wheat I have ever had. Give this one a try and it might be the last American wheat you ever buy!

12 oz. bottle into a pint glass

A - Head is tall even with a slow pour. Head is also white and frothy, reminding me of milk froth (used for coffee). Head is retained for a very long time. Beer itself is cloudy with visible sediment/yeast and is a dull copper in color. Moderate to high carbonation based on amount of carbonation bubbles and speed that bubbles rise. 4/5

S - The notes that I get right off the bat are grapefruit, lemon peel, and orange peel. Ever so slightly toasted white bread is also present as well as a floral hop presence. The aroma is really dominated by the citrus notes. 3.75/5

T - Grapefruit does not stand out as much for me in the taste but the lemon peel and orange peel are definitely in focus as well as a slight caramel sweetness. Definitely tasting the wheat and the graininess associated with it. The malt reminds me a bit of dry Cheerios. There is even a very light note of peach as well. The beer finishes with a floral hop presence and a slight lingering bitterness. 3.75/5

M - Carbonation burn with the feeling of sparkling juice or wine. Medium bodied in nature with a slight chewiness from the yeast. Very smooth but light at the same time. 4/5

O - This beer reminds me much more of a citrusy pale ale than a wheat ale. The main difference comes in the maltiness and smoothness of this beer which is much more pronounced than most pale ales. Slightly heavier than most pale ales but not by much. Not very much in the way of sweetness, this beer balances more between tart citrus and bitterness than any form of sweetness. 4/5

Poured into a snifter from a 12 oz. bottle.

A- Brownish, gold haze. Overcarbonated. Foam popping out of the bottle. The head is towering, needless to say. Retains okay, but not great for how much head there is.

S- Interesting mix of citrus and stonefruit. The combo doesn't seem to mix well in the nose. Grain bill isn't really detectable, even the wheat.

T- Some sweetness. Apricot and a little orange. A little wheaty. Bittersweet.

M- Light body. Sweet and a little snappy, with a slightly dry finish.

O- Something is off. Things just didn't mix well in this one.

I am from Indiana and have the pleasure of having this beer fresh from the brewery's tap. It is easily the best hoppy wheat beer I've ever had. The balance between the hops and wheat flavors is about perfect, leaning slightly to the hops side. Easy to drink, great mouth feel, lasting grassy hop aroma, and quick bitterness that doesn't overwhelm.

HEAVILY recommend this beer to anyone that is a hophead (just because its something different with a hop presence) and wheat beer fans alike.
