Bottle thanks to Turg! Pours transparent orange/yellow with a fizzy, but short lived white fizz. Traces of lacing. Bready/dough aroma with signature unibroue yeast and spicy floral notes. Tastes almost sweetly floral, very yeasty and zesty with corriander and lemon rind. Unique. FInishes a little too quick for my liking, but pleasant nonetheless. Thanks Francois!

A new Unibroue offering that was made specifically for the IGA supermarket chain in the Province of Quebec.........

A cloudy golden pour. The nose seemed nicely hopped and was highlighted by a refrshing citrus aroma. Good matliness backed up the fuit to give this beer some body. It very much reminded me of Unibroue's Blanche de Chambly. Refreshing, but not original.

Pours a medium dark yellow with a whispy white head. Little to no retention or lacing. Smells slightly floral with a bit of citrus in the background. At first taste you think you are on to something. There's a nice spicy foreground with a bit of coriander...then it ebbs to nothing. Thin watered out nothing. Mildly malty, little hopping, just a void where beer should be. A huge letdown from Unibroue.

Almost passed this up in a Quebec supermarket because the Unibroue symbol wasn't prominent. Comes in a four-pack. Light body, sugary aroma, nice pour with moderate head. Carbonation may not be for everyone. Sweet aftertaste.

Have to try the brown version.

Good belgian (almost witbier) ale from Unibroue. Very nice white golden color brew. Yes, I think everybody recognized in this beer a little of some of other Unibroue beers (i.e. 1837, Blanche de Chambly...). Even though, this is still a great beer with a generous head when pourred. The taste of coriander and spice is perfectly measured. I love this even though I had a hard time finding it in a Metro store.

Thanks to hopdog for this...
Appears a pale gold with a small white head that quickly fades out.
Smell is doughy, sweet citrus, mild toffee, and subdued diacytel in the background.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with citrus and raw sugar.
Mouthfeel is light bodied, spritzy, sugary, and yeasty.
I'm not sure why this is listed as a witbier.

This beer was surprizingly available at the Drinks of the World sotre in Basel, Switzerland. The head is foamy, quite regular, but fades quickly. The body is of a nice opaque yellow color. The smell shows yeast, sweet peaches and some very fruity and floral hops. It reminded me of the smell of another Unibroue beer, but I can't remember which one. Some citrus. I had the impression that this brew was hoppier than other Unibroue products. It was very enjoyable, and I was a bit surprized by the other reviews. Very fruity, with a floral aspect coming right afterwards. The citric aspect is very refreshing and not overwhelming as in other brews. A bit chewy, but not viscuous. Almost like bread. Mouthfeel is enjoyably carbonated (it bites the tongue in a nice way), round and thick but not excessively. Nicely balanced. I like it.

Four-pack found on the clearance rack of a Metro store. I'm not sure if they are brewing these anymore. I took a chance considering that Unibroue's strong ales tend to have a shelf life measured in years.

A- Cloudy orange-yellow colour. Head dissapointing but present. Some larger pieces of sediment (age a factor?) but not the worse I've seen on that account for a beer on lees. Good effervescence.

S- Faint peach. Carbon dioxide. Faint yeast. Alcohol. Weak overal and dissappointing.

T- Yeasty, Faint fruitiness. Very little bitterness. Bland by Unibroue standards, but still pleasant. Definitely smooth.

MF- Soft. Smooth. A bit watery, but not too bad. Decent overall, but see drinkability below.

D- Yeast catches in my throat. This really detracts. I get this effect from certain beers on lees, and it really diminishes my enjoyment.Otherwise smooth, mild tasting beer that goes down easily.

Pours a hazy amber/orange, not unlike almost every other Unibroue beer. Smells sweet with spices, coriander and maybe some orange peel. Taste is sweet and malty, with some yeastiness, a little spice and a nice lingering orange bitter flavour at the end. This one is very smooth, nicely carbonated since its been aging for about 9 months. Better now than it was, Unibroue beers are really much better after they've aged, takes some of the rough edge off. Nice beer.

Bottle from Jeannette metro. Poured a hazey straw color ...lots of big bubbles...natural carbonation....frothy head and good lace. Nose is of cloves over sweet caramel. Taste profile is so close to a heffeweiss Its hard to tell the difference except this brew has a more malt ponounced backbone and some apricot/pear cider tones to itin the finish and a warming feel from the 7% ABV...a nice lighter drink from Unibroue...I like this where I’m not too crazy about some of the heavier Uni ales, this one is tastey and light bodied enough to drink 3 of so.

The beer poured a dark straw yellow and was hazy and opaque. It was topped with a bright white head supported by ample carbonation. Nice aroma, with a green apple fruitiness and sourness, some citrus/spicy notes and fairly strong yeast character. The fruitiness was sweeter in the flavour and the citrus/spice combination was still present. There was also a light pepperiness and noticeable alcohol flavour and warming. Medium/light body with high, somewhat coarse carbonation and a slightly soapy/filmy texture.

Brown 341 mL bottle with freshness date on rear label.

The beer pours a hazy straw yellow color, very bright, topped with a thick frothy white head. The head diminishes into a thin coating almost immediately, but retains a light mist throughtout the glass.
The aroma is fruity and belgiany. I'm getting more of a belgian strong pale ale, rather than a witbier aroma. Lots of candi sugar and phenolic esters. Some lemon, sour apple, coriander, lime, and a light yeastiness.
The flavor starts out with lots of pale belgian malt, a lively, boisterous carbonation, and some candi sugar. A big phenolic esteriness comes through in the middle, with a lot of sour citrus and apple. Lemon and lime, with a touch of spice. Some peppery sourness in the finish, with a lingering candi sweetness that carries into the aftertaste, with a touch of malt. Light body.
I liked the beer, although I thought the carbonation was a bit too lively, and seemed to overpower the flavor. Tasty, but really nothing super special from Unibroue

That's a big head: 3 inches of creamy white meringue leave rocky mountains of lacing. A hint of metal disturbs a bready, citrusy nose (and the Unibroue spice, of course). Sweet, citrus-lemony, spicy in front. There is fair butter and more fruit in the middle. The finish is sweet, fruity, spicy, quite bitter. This is a classic, spicy, citrusy Unibroue blonde. Good. Solid. Strong. Maybe fruitier than others, but drinks well.

12 oz brown glass bottle. This poured out a light golden colour, cloudy as expected, with a decent off-white head. The aromas were of wheat, belgian yeast, candy sugar, different fruits, and spices as well as lightly citric/floral hops. The taste was very fruity, with some excellent citrus notes, and a drying hop finish. The mouthfeel was light and spritzy and the drinkability was excellent. Another super-fine wit from the fine folks at Unibroue. I'm suprised it is not rated higher on here!

Pours a very hazy pale gold with an enormous, dense and rocky cream colored head. Very lacy. Smells spicy and peppery. Clove and hints of apple and banana.

Tastes of sweet malt. Banana, clove and pepper all blended together. Lightly lemony. Creamy and lightly sticky. A remarkably clean finish for the style. Smooth, creamy, refreshing and very drinkable. Solid and tasty.

I thought this was a great beer by Unibroue, sent by a nice person in Quebec to francisweizen. It poured a light golden colour, cloudy as expected, with not a huge white head. It smelled wheaty, fruity and sweetish. It tased great- wheat, apricots, peaches, spices... I didn't give it a 5 only because it was a bit on the sweet side for a white beer, but the taste was well blended, yes. Mouthfeel was good, carbonated lik they are and not thick or thin. Drinkability is a 5 because I loved the taste and mouthfeel, they went together well. If it were available here in PA, I'd probably get a case.
