Lune De Miel
Unibroue
Like all honeymoons, this divine nectar is simply unforgettable. It’s inspired from a distant era where the father of the bride would give his new son-in-law honey-flavoured beer for the first month of marriage.
The honey, which completes the bottle refermentation process, is a perfect match for the hoppy bouquet with rich hints of spices, herbs and wildflowers.

Lune de miel. Got it in a 24 mix winter pack for 29,99$
Look: Hazy amber colour. About 1 finger of white head.
Smell: Very nice Honey on the nose. Belgian Yeast
Taste: Well the honey is less present than the smell. Some fruity notes. A bit let down
Feel: Medium to a full body. Medium to high carbonation
So overall would I recommend it ? Yes
Will I buy it again ? Not sure. I will pick some other Unibroue beer

Lune de Miel has a thin, off-white head, a hazy (opaque, following the "swish & pour") dark orange, bubbly appearance with some lacing. The aroma is of honey, bread crust, and beet sugar. The taste is of honey, turned fruit, metal, beets, bread crust, and sour cream. Lune de Miel has a medium body and a medium-dry finish.

Pours somewhat murky honey orange color with fizzy head that fairly quickly fizzles out. Aromas dominated by honey and yeast. Same with flavours combined with a dry sweetness. A hint of sourness adds to the experience. Not particularly fruity. Not much by way of hop flavours. Strong but smooth; medium carbonation with hint of bitterness on the back end. I enjoyed it.

355 mL bottle. Pours murky burnt orange. Smells odd. Lots of honey, belgian yeast, and some cardboard like it's oxidized. Tastes almost nothing like it smells. Still strong honey, but it's earthy, herbal, and floral without being all that sweet. None of the cardboard here. Back end is dry and a little bitter with lingering herbal notes. Medium heavy, but still drinks pretty well. It's fine, but I won't get it again.

Decanted from an 11.2 oz (330 ml) bottle into a custom taster pint; best by 05/29/20.
A: Pours a hazy amber color with a four finger, lemon chiffon head, more than one finger of retention, and sticky rings of lacing. Yeasty remnants notable at bottom.
S: Lightly tangy nose with aromas of honey, caramel, vanilla, macadamia nuts, pepper, and cookie. Slightly peppery at first, but resolves.
T: Slight tart. Flavors favor the nose, although the honey component is so notable, this could pass for a braggot. Very light, well balanced bitterness.
M: Medium to full bodied with excellent carbonation.
O: Rare, delicious, and fine.

BOTTLE: $3.99 USD plus tax in New Orleans...pretty dear. 12 fl oz format. Gold foil covers its pry-off crown cap.
8% ABV. "Belgian style amber ale." "Ale brewed with spices with natural flavors added." SRM 8. IBU 22."
Served chilled into a nonic.
BODY: Orange-copper rife with lees and yeast particulate. Nontransparent but translucent. Vibrant.
HEAD: White. Thin. A bit weak, but the 6 minute retention is impressive given its high ABV.
AROMA: Raw sweetness - honey. Clove. Biscuity Belgian saccharomyces. Floral hop aromatics. Fruity ale yeast esters. Royal jelly. Faint green apple skin.
Intoxicatingly honey-redolent yet it doesn't seem cloying. I can't wait try it...attenuation seems masterful.
Aromatic intensity is moderately high.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Sweet, yes, but its dryness helps keep it palateable. Honey, pale malt/2-row, fruity ale yeast esters, clove, apple skin, scintillae of pear, biscuity vitaminy nutritional yeast, spice, floral hop notes, herb.
Hides its ABV pretty well but there is some lingering warmth. The honey works pretty well, but many braggots I've had work it in more organically and its attenuation isn't perfect.
Smooth, well-carbonated, medium to full-bodied, somewhat refreshing.
OVERALL: I don't see what makes this an Amber/ambree, but judged as a a Belgian pale ale it's enjoyable fare. The honey isn't the star ingredient Unibroue seems to want it to be, but as with most all Unibroue beers, the yeasty complexity alone makes it worthwhile.
I applaud its dry yeasty flavour but the honey just isn't worked naturally into the rest of the build and it has attenuation issues, not to mention alcohol warmth. Not Unibroue's finest, but I'm glad I tried it.

Gold & frothy. Aroma is a mix of acute honey sweetness with some earthy Belgian notes - odd, kinda like spoiled fruit. That maybe a tad harsh but I didn’t love it. Taste is also just...odd. Ripe tanins, wet oak, strapped leather, funky esters / phenols bringing some sweetness. Like...dried apple dust? Musty but saccharine, honey soaked tree branch. Not sure how I feel about it, after a 1,000+ reviews it is certainly different

Look: Pale orange. Two fingers of thick white head with decent retention.
Smell: Sweet and fruity, almost like a tart. Plums, oranges, lemons.
Taste: Sweet, but with a “Diet Coke” emptiness. Limited fruitiness, like LaCroix. A very small amount of noticeable alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Average thickness, high carbonation.
Overall: Not quite as spectacular as the nose suggests.

Look: a hazy amber-orange color with a medium sized white head. Nice lacing and staying power.
Aroma: lots of honey up front, with faint spices. The honey seemed to overpower the floral notes.
Taste: the honey was there through the taste and on the finish, but less overbearing. Some complexity with some clove, floral notes, and Belgian esters for lack of a better descriptor.
Feel: medium bodied with bright but fine carbonation. Off dry finish.
Overall: interesting but too heavy on the honey for my taste.

On tap at John's Market today.
The beer pours a fairly dark golen amber color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is interesting, as I pick uo clover honey, butter, light vanilla and clove. Given the impressive aroma profile, the flavor profile is a bit disappointing. While it replicates the nose, there isn't as much flavor as I was expecting, and the beer comes across as fairly light and almost a bit watery. The moderate sweetness drops off pretty quickly, and the finish is dry and a bit short. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile in this light weight belgian style golden ale.
Shrug. A decent effort, but really not anything to get excited about. Likely will not order this one again.
