12oz bottle into tulip. Poured as suggested by the brewery sommelier.

A- Hazy dark yellow pour with a two finger, short lived snow white head. Lacing is excellent.

S- Right off the bat you get coriander, bananas, yeast and a touch of orange. Very light but quite complex smelling.

T- Light yeast, orange, coriander, bananas with a bit of grass and sour dough bread.

M- Light body, great carbonation.

O- What is there to say that hasn't been said about Unibroue. They brew good beers and that's about it. This is sadly the only one readily available at the LCBO now.

The beer pours out into an Imperial Pint glass a slightly hazy light golden color with a 1" white head that persists for quite a while.

The aromas include the yeast, some citrus and some spices.

The flavors are much as expected from nose, with some spice, the yeast, some citrus and the grain flavors imparted by the bready wheat.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly prickly from the moderate carbonation.

Overall a well made Witbier that I'll be drinking again and one that is worth seeking out

12 oz twist-off bottle poured into Unibroue tulip.
5% ABV, Best by 01-13-13. Poured with Lees swirled in.

A - Hazy old gold in color, Blanche de Chambly is crowned by a billowing white head with solid retention. Very little lace is left behind as the bubbles fade.

S - Behind a mildly tinny, earthy aroma, soft wheat and spice pulls through for an inviting wit smell. Coriander seed, wheat bread, and light ester notes of banana marry well.

T - A note of tart apple cider flavor comes through a bit before relinquishing to dry wheat with little malt interaction and a hint of coriander spice and lemongrass along the back end. Yeast esters stick to the nose as only slight earthy clay pops in on the finish.

M - Medium-light-bodied, soft wheat is very much foregone for a mild citrus zest on the finish that aids the bold carbonation in giving this beer a truly refreshing quality and even profile.

O - Decidedly earthy and light on the "Americanized" spice profile, Blanche de Chambly is well-balanced and much more akin to what the early examples of a true Belgian wit would have been. I find the heavy carbonation, while helping this beer in part, distracts from the otherwise desirable soft wheat profile.

A: Poured into a tulip glass a pale murky wheat with 2 fingers of white thick foamy head. Only a bare amount of retention, leaving a single file ribbon of bubbles around the glass. Plenty of active carbonation

S: Sweet biscuit and Unibroue yeast with sweet tangerine lemon and floral notes. Spiced with cloves and pepper, despite the spice it smells clean and crisp.

T: Malts and yeasty biscuits with sweet citrus of orange and lemon. Finishes with cloves and pepper. Excellent spiced aftertaste that begs for another sip to get top up the refreshing citrus flavour.

M: Light bodied with excellent active carbonation that accentuates the refreshing flavour. The extra tingle from the carbonation gives a short moment of numbness on the tongue, heaven!

O: Very easy to drink and enjoy with seafood or basic summer salads. The active carbonation and tangy flavour make for an incredibly refreshing brew. Simple and very easy to drink - great brew.

A - A finger's worth of tightly packed effervescent pure white head... Little or no retention which gives way to a full fizzy layer of lacing... Loaded with spry rapid paced carbonation throughout... The color is a slightly pale golden yellow... There is an ever so slight haziness...

S - Orange zest... A hint of lemon... A surprising amount of Belgian yeast... Some light candied sugars... Subtle wheat undertones... Very faint spiciness... Stellar aroma...

T - Loads of lemon zest... Some orange zest... A big wheat presence... A slight Belgian yeast component... Apple... Pears... Perhaps some very subtle white pepper notes... A sophisticated and complex Witbier...

M - Light to medium bodied... A good bit of carbonated zing... A bit delicate and feathery... There is a touch of dryness on the finish...

D - Quaffable and refreshing... A very nice beer... Undoubtedly one of my favorite Unibroue offerings... Whille note a seasonal offering, this is a terrific spring or summer beer with lots of sophistication and complexity... I will have no problem working through the half case that I just invested in...

Served in a flute (like the bottle says)

Appearance: A cloudy gold, white head maybe 1/4" off the body.

Smell: citrus scent, potent...leaves you wanting to inhale it.

Taste: lemon, Malts and full and robust.

Mouth: full carbonation smoother than a knife through butter.

Overall: A great buy especially considering the price and so.much that you get for it. Salud.
