La Fin Du Monde
Unibroue
La Fin du Monde was developed through 18 months of research on a unique strain of yeast originating from Europe. It is brewed in honor of the intrepid European explorers who believed they had reached the “end of the world” when they discovered North America ‘the new world’. This triple-style golden ale recreates the style of beer originally developed in the Middle Ages by trappist monks for special occasions and as such it was the first of its kind to be brewed in North America.

Always wanted to try this bad boy, but skepticism always got the better of me. A serious Belgian Tripel...from Canada??? Well after reading countless stellar reviews here on BA, I finally grabbed a 12 oz bottle. Best before 12/16/13 on back of label, poured into Duvel Tulip...
Pours a gorgeous unfiltered, golden honey colored hue with around a finger's worth of luscious, white, frothy head. Great retention and plenty of decorative lacing as the head slowly dissipates.
Nose is full of various aromas that blend together beautifully. Belgian yeast mustiness, light fruits such as apple and pear, mixed spices; predominantly white pepper, and some slight booze.
I'm not exactly sure how to go about adequately describing this, but I'll give it my best shot. Lots of spice, mainly pepper and clove kick it off, leading way into some boozy warmness. Fruit flavors and malty sweetness are more apparent in the back end, complemented by the slightest hop bitterness. Finishes off nice, crisp and semi dry. A Very complex and really nice Tripel.
Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation and a nice creamy consistency. At 9% this obviously isn't a session beer, but is too damn drinkable to be a sipper. Drink with caution.
Overall, this thing is fantastic. At around $12 a four pack, its real affordable as well. One of the best Tripels I've ever had, hands down.

Picked a can of this up from downtown grocery in Wausau, WI before heading home today. I was instantly drawn to the beautiful color of this can. The smell is really pleasant, but the taste really threw my off at first. To me, it initially tasted like green olives, but as I got used to it, it tasted more like a hefeweizen. Overall a really good, hard hitting beer that will sneak up on you.

Pours a bright orange - gold with lot of head and lacing, be ready with that glass! Tastes like funk (horse blanket), banana, clove, a little pepper, spicy, dry. Not quite as good as Westmalle but it’s a very good beer and the price is right, cheers!
