La Fin Du MondeLa Fin Du Monde

Brewed by:
Quebec, Canada

Style: Tripel

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
La Fin du Monde was developed through 18 months of research on a unique strain of yeast originating from Europe. It is brewed in honor of the intrepid European explorers who believed they had reached the “end of the world” when they discovered North America ‘the new world’. This triple-style golden ale recreates the style of beer originally developed in the Middle Ages by trappist monks for special occasions and as such it was the first of its kind to be brewed in North America.

A: Hazy amber and gold

S: Belgian yeast, cloves, candy and banana

T: Taste followed the nose but also had a great level of spice and malt. The alcohol is hardly detectable

M: Smooth and not overly carbonated

Overall: This is a very good beer. The aroma and flavors are excellent and complex. Well done Unibroue

On tap at Victoire in Rochester, NY.

Pours well, with a beautiful 3 inch head, and a pale, hazy, honey-colored liquid underneath. The head lasts 5-10 minutes.

Smells of strong Belgian yeast, cloves, apple, and pear dominate.

Such a great flavor. Tons of tastes roll around, all held together by a slight yeast bitterness. Cloves, banana, sour apple, pear, orange. Awesome! The yeast is my favorite part- it's not overdone, but really expressive, and brings all the flavors together well.

Full bodied, strong mouthfeel and carbonation.

My favorite non-quad Belgian beer. A true masterpiece of brewing.
