La Fin Du MondeLa Fin Du Monde

Brewed by:
Quebec, Canada

Style: Tripel

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
La Fin du Monde was developed through 18 months of research on a unique strain of yeast originating from Europe. It is brewed in honor of the intrepid European explorers who believed they had reached the “end of the world” when they discovered North America ‘the new world’. This triple-style golden ale recreates the style of beer originally developed in the Middle Ages by trappist monks for special occasions and as such it was the first of its kind to be brewed in North America.

Still to this day my absolute favorite beer.In the past week I have had a St Bern. Abt 12 and a Founders Breakfast Stoudt. Two fantastic brews but this is my No.1. I would drink this more often but I have a job.It is absolutely addicting.Easy to get and even easier to drink
It is an extremely dangerous beer at 9% abv .This is the second time I have reviewed it and it just does not have any peers amoungst the tripel style. Best thing about it , crack open a bottle around wine drinkers, some actually think it is champagne and anyone who has had it has either liked it or loved it and changed their mind about beer. The smell the taste and especially the mouthful -unbelievable

12 oz bottle poured into tulip glass.

A - Cloudy dark gold / straw color with 2 and a half fingers of fine white head.

S - Banana, clove, pepper, yeast, and sugar. It's got a nice pleasant sweetness to it without being overpowering.

T - Lots of banana, clove, and Belgian yeast. There is also a hint of breadiness and slight pepper. Overall the taste is sweet and sugary with great complexity. Very easily drinkable yet complex.

M - Thin-to-moderate body with very high carbonation. It's got a nice prickly bite to it which really makes the flavors pop on the tongue. A nice aftertaste of sugar, clove and pepper.

O - Definitely a fantastic brew from Unibroue. I can drink this at any time and enjoy it.
