Serving Size: 750ml Bottle

Apperance: Poured a cloudy orange hue w/ about a 1 finger head that lingered for some time.

Smell: Orange, yeast, maybe some honey? A bit of spice mixed in

Taste: Very strong drink that has a lot of lemon mixed in w/ the malty flavour. A little harsh of a beer where the flavours didn't appear balanced. What I did enjoy was the warmth of the alcohol that lingered around. Apple was also mixed in w/ the flavour

Mouthfeel: The warm feeling was great as it lingered for some time. A thick feeling drink w/ maybe a touch to much carbonation

Drinkability: I feel that because of the high alcohol content that maybe the beer wouldn't be so drinkable but the alcohol blends in nicely w/ the flavours.

Overall a good drink I just feel like the taste is a bit off balanced. The lemony flavour seemed a bit harsh, I wish the apple/spicey flavours stood out a little more

750ml bottle from 2007.

Pours clear copper with a ruby hue and an inch-plus head of white. Moderate retention and lacing. Clove-studded candied apples in the nose. Faint red fruit. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Dark candy sugar on the palate with cloves and a spicy afterthought. Finishes faintly boozy with burnt sugar and green peppercorns.

From a 750ml bottle dated December 2009. This has been aging for awhile! Pours a cloudy brown color with a finger of white foam. Smells of sugar, dark fruits, and yeast (not unlike a red wine). Mouthfeel is pretty light, a little syrupy but not much carbonation. Taste is a multi-layered blend of dark malts, yeast, and spices. The alcohol is mostly hidden except for a lingering warmth, surprising for a 10% beer.
