I like Saisons and usually love Unibroue beers. This one was a bit disappointing. Poured from a pint can into a pint glass, the beer was a cloudy apple cider yellow/gold color with a small white head. Light lacing and average retention. Aroma and taste were malty with a little bitterness in the finish. Very little of the "funk" I usually associate with a Saison. Mouthfeel was rich enough but the lack of Saison flavor was disappointing. Not a bad beer, but not a great Saison

A pretty tasty saison for sure. Copper hue, as described by the can. Frothy white head that isn’t there for long. Smell is wonderful, surprisingly peachy. Taste is interesting for sure. Remains dry, per style. Yet soft mouth feel from dry hopping. Spices are very complex, gingery, almost gingerbread. Good winter/christmas brew? Still refreshing, as a saison should. Could be a little more effervescent. Lightish body, with a nice mouthfeel. Can design is pretty lame, but i realize Bandmembers of megadeth helped brew the beer, so I will pull my punches there. Overall really nice beer. Unibroue never disappoints me. Will buy again.

Pours a mostly clear, yet slightly cloudy , amber orange color. Some slow moving carbonation is visible. Despite the fact that the moderate head quickly dissipates, it is a lovely looking beer, especially as I’m drinking it by the deck during sunset.

Fruity and estery aromas evoke stone fruit, in particular, apricot and peach. There are also notes of citrus fruit, floral hops, and a bready malt profile that smells like caramel and honey.

The taste opens with lots of peppery spices amidst a very dry palate. The taste also has a light lemon tartness throughout. As the malt flavors open up, they yield some bready sweetness, along with notes of caramel and honey. Zesty notes of grapefruit and orange peel are accompanied by notes of apricot and peach. The spice continues throughout, with notes of coriander and grassy hops.

Medium bodied and crisp, as the spice provides a prickle on the tongue and the tartness some zest. This is supported by the lively carbonation. The finish is dry.

Solid Saison overall. It felt a tad too spicy at first, but the balance began to smooth out and it grew on me.

I knew Megadeth and Unibroue had a relationship but I didn't realize it extended to multiple beers and styles. Pours a bright orange brown with medium strength cream colored head. Nose is biscuit and grapeskin and funky yeast.

Kind of understated, with he requisite spice and fruit and yeast notes but not a overwhelming deluge. Definitely has notes of herbal hops and green apple but nothing too dominant. This is a clean, refreshing saison that is a little mellow for me to go with the music of Dave Mustaine, but that is just one man's opinion.

Can: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with light spices and light yeasty notes. Taste is a mix of dry caramelized malt with some light spices and herbal notes with some light yeasty notes and a semi-sweet finish. Body is about average with OK carbonation. I was expecting more form Unibroue but this is poorly executed and lacks some attenuation and complexity.

Can. Pale amber orange with lasting ring and island. Spicy floral peppery aroma with a hint of berries. Sweet orange and grass and lightly toasted malt with fruity hop and spicy ... spice finish. A little too spicy, overstays its welcome for me, but still very good.

341 mL bottle included in a Unibroue mixed six-pack from the LCBO; coded Jul 16 2019 and served slightly chilled. This is the second of their Megadeth collaborations - I still need to track down a fresh bottle of the first one, À Tout Le Monde.

Pours golden-amber and slightly hazy, topped with half a finger of frothy, foamy white head that falls apart within a few minutes' time. A modest collar of bubbles lingers on, with minimal lace deposition; slightly underwhelming visually, but that's no biggie. I'm getting bready, slightly biscuity malts and grainy sweetness on the nose, as well as some earthy, grassy hop notes and light spiciness; fruity suggestions of apple, pear, orange and just a touch of banana also come through more clearly as the glass warms.

Their dry hop process puts an interesting spin on the style. It tastes of bready, biscuity malts and grains, with some earthy, floral hop bitterness; the latter remains in the background at the forefront, but becomes more prominent at the tail end of the sip. In the meantime, hints of apple, orange and stone fruit flirt briefly across the taste buds, preceding some spicy, peppery yeastiness and a suggestion of banana nearer the finish; lingering earthy, resinous undertones in the aftertaste, the only facet of this beer that I could do without. Medium in body, with assertive carbonation that provides a decent bite; it's got a frothy, surprisingly smooth mouthfeel, with good drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.87, a B+. Saison 13 is a solid Belgian-style ale - as if this brewery were capable of anything less! Its malt flavours are varied and robust, while the dry hopping also gives it a unique flair. Their Blonde de Chambly is probably more aligned with my saison preferences, but this is still a worthwhile brew that I'd recommend to anyone who appreciates Unibroue products, or Belgian-style beers in general. I don't think I'd go out of my way for more, but if it's readily available I'm sure I'll return to it at some point.

341 ml bottle served cold-ish into a chalice. LCBO purchase as part of this year's Unibroue mixed seasonal pack.

Appearance - Wonderful coppery color spills from the glass with red hues. Three quarters of a finger of white head that sticks around for a medium duration. Some haziness and lots of bubbles rise to the surface.

Smell - Hops and fruit, has trace elements of dank citrus reminiscing about the dankest of IPA's before switching gears and going with a lovely stone fruit aroma. The melding of the two, reminds me of some classic west coast IPA's that are a little more on the stale side with a floral finish.

Taste - Pretty light and delicate with some faded west coast style hops up front transitioning to a floral and stone fruit combo of the body, some powdery doughnuts (from La Fin Du Monde) and very doughy and bready aspects in behind. Unique, but distinctly Unibroue too. A touch of pepper to close.

Mouthfeel - Medium body, a touch sticky, carbonation is reasonably soft for the style, not as dry as others either, this trends juicy.

Overall - Really good stuff by one of the masters of the Belgian styles, definitely a quality addition to an already quality mixed pack, may have to pick up another just to sample this again (and La Fin Du Monde, Trois Pistoles and Maudite are pretty incredible too)

Another Megadeth beer yes please! pours rather dark for the style with a dark orange hue. Head was massive with my English pint glass it flowed almost 2 inches of foam. Smells moderately spiced has some really good orange candies aroma and just overall smells fruity. Taste is about the same kind of generic not overly spiced or full of hop taste. Body is smooth simple easy drinking.
