Golden and complex beer made from Belgian yeast. Bold aromas and bitterness of a Belgian IPA. The fusion of two cultures.

Man, this one spanks me like the madam of the house when I am asking for another. It’s just bright with a nice prehistoric bite. Damn… unlike Clark Garble, Raul’s gives one. After this one I will need more Ce n’est pas.

See ya, my minions.

I guess I should not be surprised that this is pretty darn good .... This is beer #2 from an interesting variety pack I came across... It's hard to be "unique" in this style... But this is indeed... Unique

Pours a burnt copper in color with a murky translucency. Head is a finger of white foam. Aroma is boozy with sticky hops adding weight to the front. Belgian yeast, clove, and resin and herbal hops build out the rest of the nose. Flavor profile is sticky hops - resin, herbal, and grassy, in descending order. Belgian yeast adds some oomph and further depth. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is soft at the start, but turns to watery and thin at the finish. Overall, a little odd. Pairs old school type sticky hop notes with heavy, boozy Belgian yeast.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 12oz bottle. Reviewed from notes.

Hazy opaque orange body with two fingers of cream colored foam. Citrus and floral hops lead nose with mild yeast. Taste has citrus and pine up front in a wet way, mild airy yeast comes down the backside zesting the citrus. Feel is wet, light, smooth with a mild bite of bitterness on the finish, the yeast is there but only as a support, want a bit more there. They are right, this is not la fin du monde, but a solid take on the belgian ipa

12oz bottle (best by date obscured) into a tulip. Pours a somewhat murky dirty pale amber with a soft fluffy head that lingers.

Aroma is fruity and full of esters: peach, mango, overripe banana, clove, bready Belgian yeast, candi sugar. Tons of sweet malt.

Taste is likewise fruity and sweet with a solid hop presence in the finish. The sugars round out the hop bitterness but it’s there in the background. There’s a nice boozy warmth here too.

Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of medium, almost chewy. Satisfying.

Overall I think this was intended to be a hoppy twist on LFDM, and they more or less succeeded. Can’t say I prefer this over the original but it answers the question, what if they made a hoppy version of one of my favorite tripels.

12oz bottle, best by 12/08/24

On the pour one finger of fine white head formed on top of a hazy, deep amber body. Verging on murky. Some lacing forms. This beer isn't all that big on looks.

The smell is very interesting, and seeing as this is my first "Belgian Style IPA" it is very unique, but almost reminds me of a hoppy barleywine. Very malty and a bit sweet. The alcohol is present and enhancing the sweet aroma, but with some bite. The hops are quite earthy and herbal, melding with the sweet malt.

Taste is similar to the aroma, but with an almost immediate bitterness that fades into a subtle but long lasting background bitterness. There is some sweetness in the malt, but it is actually quite dry. Slightly nutty, but the earthy herbal notes are very present, likely due in some part to the yeast characteristics. This beer is very balanced and nuanced, but all the flavors meld together incredibly well, making it tough to truly pick them out from the beer as a whole. There is a slight boozyness.

The mouthful on this beer is larger than life, with the malts immediately coating your mouth, before a slight, dry astringency sets in that lingers. You can almost feel the alcohol on your tongue, and it is very full bodied and warming.

Overall this is a big beer, and it isn't trying to hide it at all. Super malty, but nicely balanced with hops, but big yeast character turns those hops spicy, earthy, herbal, and slightly funky. Very unique and enjoyable armchair beer. Not the easiest drinking however.

8/20/23 Poured from a 12 oz bottle purchased from the Washington Beer Store in Washington PA.

Color of cider! Little to no lacing or head.

Aromas of clove, cider, tangerine. Stoney. Very interesting!

The flavor of this is very cidery, definite clove, malt, and a hop bitterness.

Ce N'est Pas La Fin Du Monde has a white head and a translucent, bubbly, orange appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of somewhat turned fruit, bread crust, and a touch of hop resin. The flavor is of those elements, with strong bitterness. Ce N'est Pas La Fin Du Monde has a medium body and a semi-sweet finish.
