Thanks Bob

A: Pours an apricot ale with haze, a transient off white head leaving a central cap and ring of the same. No lace.

S: Banana and Unibroue yeast. Just look into my other reviews for further adjectives on the issue. I can say, however, this is less offensive with the malt profile here than in the others. But, still, last one I intend to have.

T: Tastes like all other Unibroue beers with a twist of sweet banana and dinner roll.

M: Medium bodied with hi carb and a long and slick finish which is granular for me.

O: Again, I'm disappionted by Unibroue. I just can't stand their yeast, but I understand it makes many, many people happy.

Horrible!!!!! Very sweet with too much alcohol shining through, gag, gag, gag. Horrible unbalanced and syrupy, one of Unibroues worst beers, no doubt, get Maudite or trois Pistoles instead, this is junk.

When I poured this, I was excited by the nice golden color. There was a moderate amount of head, which disappeared rather quickly. I didn't really like the smell, which was creamy. The taste was like the smell, creamy, with some spice as well. I did not find this to be a good combination, however, and had a hard time finishing the beer. The creaminess overwhelmed me, and I couldnt really taste anything else.

750 ml bottle that looks impressive, but it stops right there. This one pours a very pale cloudy yellow orange with a nice foamy white head and minimal lacing.
Smell is overpowering of fruit and spices, not what i like in a beer.
Taste is the same with banana oranges pears and little lemon really comming through,i don't know why they call this pale ale,it's more like those wheat beers.
Mouthfeel is a medium warm feel with carbs.
Not my cup of tea, will not buy this one me...this isn't beer...more like a fruit punch.

Pours a cloudy orange color with thick foamy head that settles into a nice lacing that lasts throughout. Lots of visible carbonation bubbling up. Aroma is kind of bland consisting of crisp, light fruit and strong alcohol presence. This beer was way too carbonated and sweet tasting with a very dry finish.

Pours a light straw color, rather light for a pale ale. No head or lacing to speak of at all. Almost no scent, either, as well as taste. A slight bitterness aftertaste, but nothing to really go with it. Goes down fine, especially for such a high ABV beer, but that's about it.

A: Extra cloudy yellow with an orange tint. Small white head, ending with lots of lacing.

S: Loads of belgian yeast and mildly sour citrus spices. Notes of bananas and raisins.

T: Not far from the nose. A sickening amount of belgian yeast and raw orange peel upfront. Lots of other lights fruits through the taste. Tangy, literally like "Tang," that awful crap i used to drink as a kid. Flat, stale aftertaste.

M: Medium carb, medium body. Sticky and tangy.

D: Good, if you are into overly citrusy-sweet Belgian's with far too much yeast. Some people are down with that.

This is the third Unibroue that i simply don't like, and find hard to truly appreciate. Sorry, guys.

Appearance is pale and mucky yellow with a light head that does not last particularly long.

Smell is a bit yeasty with a touch of citrus and mango and other light fruits. Average at best.

Light spice to the taste, with a bit of cinnamon and oak wood. Wheat lingers and a bit syrup-laden, but not overpowering and not particularly notable.

High carbonation and syrupy and yeasty finish makes this beer a bit tough to drink. 9% ABV prevalent, but this wheat trippel does a terrible job at hiding it.

Pours golden, with lots of bubbles. You might be able to tell someone this is a banquet beer! Smell is invigorating, apples, banana, this is like a fruit orchard in a bottle.

Taste, falters. Tastes like too much at one time of stuff I'm not into (aforementioned fruit). Does not taste like my stereotypical "beer" mindset, but just as much like a wine cooler.

Can't say I like the mouthfeel, despite its obvious complexity, and its drinkability can't be high if you don't like the taste or mouthfeel usually.

Beer poured a very pale straw color with a tiny head that dissapeared immediately. Head seemed light and wispy, like a corn beer. No lacing. No other carbonation to speak of.

Smell was very unassuming. Yeasty and sweet.

Taste was pretty sweet. Almost syrupy. Alcohol wasnt very pronounced which was a saving grace with this beer. Very sweet.

Sticky mouthfeel. If this was a blind taste test, the looks and tastes of this beer seemed similar to any macro like Icehouse or one of those sweet beers. My fourth Unibroue, and definitely the worst of the four.

i don't know what's wrong, i've had this before, and found it excellent.

this bottle, however, not so much.

it pours with a small head that fades faster than it raises, leaving no head or anything. all that's left is a medium gold brew. no bueno.

the smell is here, all the typical scents you'd get out of this style but i smell something that's a bit apple-like.

i think something may be wrong here, it tastes okay, but it's lightly sweet, fruity, alcoholic but leaves a funky aftertaste that i can't put a finger on.

fizzy, normal mouthfeel.

i think i just got a bad bottle, that said, not very drinkable.

750 ML corked and caged bottle, Best Before Date 11-20-06.

Pours a clear yellow brew with a low carbonation level. Very bright and sunny to look at.

Smell is fairly sweet and floral with a honeysuckle candy scent. Mild fruit scents are present too. Spicy scents in this too mostly ginger and cinnamon.

Taste is drier than it smells, noticeable alcohol flavor present. Taste is under whelming I expected more, nearly flavorless. Some faint spice flavors in this.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Well I was under whelmed by this one. Looked and smelled great but just didn't deliver in the flavor department. Carbonation level seems low but the bottle is not spoiled. No off flavors or vinegarization. I hate to not give a Unibroue beer a good review but this one just didn't deliver in the taste department. Will try again and possibly revise this review.

Pours yellow with just a hint of orange. There is also a large white head that slowly dissipates, but doesn't last nearly as long as the head on Duvel. Very few bubbles as well.

Not a lot going on in the smell, malt, citrus fruit, and a touch of grass.

Mainly fruit here, maybe a hint of pepper. Not much complexity here, the layers of flavor I was expecting just aren't here.

Feels thin to me, and the lack of carbonation enforces that.

Normally I love Unibroue beers, but this has to be the weakest entry from them I have tried. While it goes down easy considering the abv, there just isn't much going on. I guess this shows that even the best don't always produce something amazing, if you want a much better similar beer from Unibroue, try La Fin Du Monde instead.

A- pours light golden color with large head that quickly dissipates to one finger . lacing is present but not clumpy.

S- very sweet and fruity. vinegar or ciders. carmalized candy.

T- instant fruitstand. Tastes like white grapes. some charcoal in the back.

M- pretty thin with little carbonation. little residue leftover.

D- had to give Unibroue another try after La Terrible. The strong cidery fruit presense just may not be for me in these belgian strongs. For what its worth I enjoyed it.

Pours a straw color, cloudy, with one finger head. Spicy, high in the nose. I also get a bit of raisins. Taste is wheat malt up front with spicy, fruity apple tarty flavor. I get some banana in the smooth finish. This is highly carbonated but smooth, not watery at all.

This is a complexly boring beer. I get a lot of spices in the nose and taste, but nothing I can pinpoint and nothing I haven't tasted before. This is interesting, but I became bored at the end of the bomber.

Golden color, white head, 3/5". Aroma was apple and light fruit, non citrus variety, lots of alcohol.

More alcohol burn in the taste. Heat and green apple. High carbonation. Lots of yeast mouthfeels. Expensive stuff. Lots of clove and spice rack in here.

I just can't. Some of this belgian stuff is just so pronounced alcohol and yeast wise. Malt and hops are an afterthought for style. Tasted like a yeasty tripel to me, the only nice thing was the apple impressions.

out of the unibroue line-up, which i usually love, this was a bit of a dissapointment. maybe it was the fact that I had this during the winter while this was a summer brew, but I felt the don de dieu was way to citric and almost a bit alcoholic. almost an inch of head. golden color which gave it promise. the nose had a clementine or wheat type smell. it was much different on the palate, as the alcohol (9%) came through more than the flavor. it made it a bit difficult to have more than one, rather than an easy drinking beer. the finish was tart, as citric drinks go, rather than a refreshing finish that i enjoy while drinking a tripel. enjoyable, but not desirable.

Best by 3/2/07. 12 oz. bottle. Poured into a Koenigshoeven chalice.

A-Hazy golden peach beer. No head, just a thin, thin layer of foam slick, yet has incredible, streaming, over-eager carbonation.
S-Fruity, fruit-cocktail esters. Bit of booze, bit of candy.
T-Like a champagne/burbon cocktail. Boozy 9% is very apparent.
M-This is the most champagne-like beer I have ever come across. A very dry champagne. Brut. Unstoppable carbonation; a miracle really.
D-One is enough for me.

CRUX: THIS IS THE REAL "CHAMPAGNE OF BEERS." Different take on the Belgian Strong Pale Ale, that's for sure. For that alone it's worth the sample.

A - In a Unibroue glass: Cloudy orange/gold with a slight white head and no lacing. I see no carbonation.

S - Peach, honey, grain.

T/M - Citrus-peach, hops and marmalade; unique. There's a slight fizz to this ale that I think improves the offering but it otherwise has a mediocre frame/weight to it that falls just shy of creaminess.

D - 9% ABV? A nice ale in warm weather as it's certainly refreshing. Perhaps this was a bit too cold but I'm still searching for adjectives to describe this unusual offering.

The appearance is good, with a nice rich color.

The smell has a subtle fruitiness that got my hopes up for an excellent beer.

The taste and feel left something to be desired. It is overly carbonated in my opinion which ruins much of the flavor.

As for drinkability...high carbonation plus 9% ABV should get you drunk fast but I don't see another reason to drink this beer. Especially when Unibroue has other much better offerings.

12 oz bottle, pours out a dark cloudy yellow. A big head at first that subsides to about 1/4 of an inch, and leaves a nice lace.

There are some great tones of apple, pear, and cider on the nose of this beer, as well as a heavy yeast consistency.

I definetely did not like the taste of this one too well, especially compared to other Unibroue beers. At first, a wave of alcohol hits you and then fades subtly into the background. Next you notice a few nice fruity and estery tones.

It has a strangely ice-creamy flavor, which is also reflected in the thick mouthfeel. There was no real wheaty-flavor, which I was looking forward to, and no real hop consistency either. There is also an overly vanilla flavor to this one. I had trouble finishing it.

A semi-bright golden pour, some haze--not much. Head was large, but smaller than expected. It seemed a bit loose, too. Not very tight or strong.
I get mostly biscuit and light toast in the nose. The spices are there, but are subtle and not very striking. alcohol is noticeable. So far, this is average.
And the taste follows. Malty, but not overly so. Small spice, white pepper, some clove and pumpkin? Hmm...
It's a bit disappointing; the malt is prominent but not powerful and the spice just doesn't pick up. I get the qualities of the style, but they're just present and don't accentuate much.
A bit bland feel to it
Still drank pretty well.

Appearance: Hazy orange hued golden brew which pours a big white head that vanishes quickly into a thin, white ring.

Smell: Light fruity esters of pear and apple. Mild honey notes. Rich pale malt base but very little spiciness or hops.

Taste: Rich, creamy taste rich in pale malt. Very light fruit esters and the spicy notes of La Fin du Monde are absent. No floral or mineral hops additions. Dry, crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Appropriate density. Carbonation is fine and zaps the tongue with each sip. Head retention just too poor for the style.

Drinkability: Good not any better. Not as good as La Fin Du Monde, Maudite, or Trois Pistoles.

Pours hazy golden color with a massive bright white head, however it does not stick around and leaves not even a hint of lacing. Smells of citrus, lots of sweet mellow malts, raisins, and various other spices I can't seem to pinpoint. An overly sweet bubblegum flavor and honestly it's just too overbearing for me to really pick outany other flavors. Maybe I just got a bad bottle but it seems really flat and really overall just lacking in every department. I will say that it hides the alcohol quite well, but this (so far) is in my opinion Unibroue's worst and I really do typically like their stuff. I'll skip this one and pick up Maudite or Trois Pistoles .
