Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a snifter. Hazy, dark orange in color, one-finger white head that left minimal lacing. Aromas typical of the Belgian pale (banana, coriander, yeast funk, a little clove) with a pronounced phenolic character. These carry over to the palate, with a good bit of alcohol warmth and an exceptionally clean and dry finish. This is a real gem, and a real bargain at the price. Well done, Unibroue!

Golden color, white head, 3/5". Aroma was apple and light fruit, non citrus variety, lots of alcohol.

More alcohol burn in the taste. Heat and green apple. High carbonation. Lots of yeast mouthfeels. Expensive stuff. Lots of clove and spice rack in here.

I just can't. Some of this belgian stuff is just so pronounced alcohol and yeast wise. Malt and hops are an afterthought for style. Tasted like a yeasty tripel to me, the only nice thing was the apple impressions.

Pours a hazy deep gold with a frothy, modest for the style head. Plenty of lace patches drape the glass on the way down. Spices, clove, lemon meringue pie in the nose. Fruity, lemon, green apple, bubblegum, cookie dough malts, floral notes. Hop bitterness is very minimal. The mouthfeel is full bodied and creamy with champagne like carbonation.

A fantastic strong Belgian ale. Noticeably drier than Fin Du Monde, but jst as complex and full of the Belgian estery goodness. A must try.

a: super-clear pale orange color with some slight amber notes. pours a rather large white marshmellow head, but that fades slowly but settles as a thin film on top

s: banana, pear, green apples, citrus zest, sweet caramel malts, clove, some slightly zesty peppery yeast. something almost funk-like in here as well

t: ripe pear and green apple right away followed by that sweet malt. behind that i'm picking up a little bit of that Belgian yeast spice - a bit peppery, and just a touch of clove...maybe some cardamom as well. the yeast is providing a light floral presence which is nice. there is just a touch of citrus zest and that slight funk presence in here as well. finishes sweet and not too dry

m: its a medium mouthfeel, however the carbonation level is a bit low for a BPA, and thats my biggest criticism of this beer. is not terribly under-carbonated, but it could definitely use more

o: aroma and taste are nice. i'd like a bit more pop from the pears and apples, and perhaps if the carbonation level was a little higher we'd get that. but, still worth a purchase and a drink. i'm enjoying it for sure, and the carbonation isn't enough to knock off serious points. a really nice beer
