My first sip of this brew, and I was ready to dump it down the sink...fortunatly I didn't...and to my surprize the taste began to grow on me.
Arrived a cloudy medium gold in colour, nice 1.5 finger crown, limited carbonation but large bubbled.
The body is just short of being full.
The aroma is that of the wort to begin followed quickly by a tart like peach scent.
The taste initially started out empty followed by a nice surge of hopped up peaches...the emptiness soon was displaced by the peach and never to return.

Mostly clear golden colour, bright white head that's a little on the thin side and supported by generous carbonation. The aroma is very fruity, a combination of peach and apples, almost cider-like. Also a bit of maltiness appears underneath all the fruit. Very mild flavour, with peach just covering the malt character. Definitely balanced on the sweet side yet it's not cloying, finishes off-dry with some malty sweetness. Creamy, slightly slick texture, plenty of carbonation and moderately light body. Enjoyable, like the rest of the ephemere line, but I was expecting a lot more peach character from this one, especially in the flavour.

Tonight, my brother-in-law offered me to taste this beer. I knew the name, but I never had it. The bottle was a little too cold and it may have changed the taste. My biggest point is Ephemere-Peach needs to have a stronger taste. It had a cloudy appearance. Unfortunely, it only had a light peach smell and I am still search the beer smell. Its taste is smooth and lasts too shortly in mouth. Also, it is too much carbonated: it makes me thinking to some soft drink. Not really the best Unibroue can product.

Right away, I was disappointed in how this looked. Much clearer than I expected. Usually, the ephemeres are moderately cloudy, but this one was so clear, it looked like some macro lager. Head was fizzy, and you could tell the beer was very carbonated.

Aroma was more like apples than peaches if you ask me. Taste was average. Peachy, sweet, tart but not much else. Kind of disappointing. Probably my least favourite ephemere.

Poured a cloudy straw color....lively effervescence in the glasssmall white cap...aromas of musty peach...sharp peppery start goes to a light body with tart peach tones and bready malts over a slight spiciness from the yeast....finishes clean and refreshingly tart-dry like a ginger ale...you better half will like it if you hope to turn her on to craft bottle conditioned beers...this one will do it.

Reviewed side by side with the apple, cranberry, and original versions for comparisons sake.

I think this version is about equal to the cranberry version, which isn’t a good thing. Pours a hazy golden color, with head that nearly overflows unless the drinker is careful. Smell is peachy, peachy and peachy, perhaps the most peach smelling beer I’ve ever had. I detect little to no hops here, with the fruit being the primary form of flavoring. A sweet beer, the peach here dominates. Well carbonated. Not especially complex, this is a simple fruit beer. Not especially smooth. Drinkability is average. If you really want a beer that tastes like a peach, this is your ticket. Otherwise, forgetaboutit.

Thanks to Todd for the sample.

Presentation: 341 ml brown bottle with no freshness date to be found.

Appearance: Thin lacing with minimal stickage, hazy orange straw hue.

Smell: Huge aroma of freshly cut peaches … but with another sniff it smells a bit too much, not artificial but more of an extract. Still pleasant but with very little beer quality.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Moderate body dons a dry crispness, a boat load of peach flavor upfront. Then all of a sudden … Poof! It is all gone. The wheat malt shines for a second. The brashness of the carbonation at least holds something to balance the sweetness of the peach flavor.

Drinkablity & Notes: A very interesting fruit beer to say the least, certainly one of the more drinkable ones in my opinion.

This beer was cloudy and yellow, with head that stayed for a while. Although the peachy smell was nice, the taste was a little to sweet and syrupy for my liking. The syrupy taste took away from the drinkability. The mouthfeel was too heavy, and the beer was pretty filling actually.

Big head that settles down but doesn't disappear, offers up some spotty lace. Attractive hazy yellow gold colour. Very soft looking.

Tart and almost sour on the nose to start with. Clear peach aroma on top of malt once you make your way past the tartness.

Lots of peach laid over what almost tastes like a gentle, subtle witbier. It's an odd combination that somehow doesn't quite work. All the taste is in the swallow – there's nothing that lingers except from a short dose of sourness.

Okay but doesn't bust me up.

A rather disappointing beer from Unibroue. Poured a peachy haze colour, with a big foam head that lasted til the end. Smelled of malt and peach. Sweet. Tasted, well, weak and terrible. Very watery peach mix with malt. I did not like it. Which is sad. I feel as if I'm betraying a friend when I give this beer a bad review. Mouthfeel was bland. Not that drinkable. It reminds me of powdered peach juice given to kids. Sorry, Unibroue, but this is not of your calibre.

Pours a peach amber with a bright white head. Sweet and peach fruity is the meat of this beer. The peach is not overwelming and is handled quite nicely. Carbination is large and gives the mouthfeel an interesting texture, but it is still smooth. If you like peaches, try one of these beers.

This ephemere has the same appearance as the others - pale gold with a delicate but relatively voluminous white head. And apply the flavour characteristics from the others here as well. Delicate wheat balanced by a touch of fruit flavour, tasty but restrained, a perfect hot weather beer. The apple still reigns supreme, but don't discount the peach ephemere

341ml bottle, leftover from an assorted 8-pack picked up in a Montreal supermarket in April 2003.

Pours with a frothy white head that fades and leaves spots of lace. Body is pale gold and cloudy. (Unibroue beers always look so good in the glass!)

Smell is peachy of course but no overwhelmingly so. Hints of spice and yeast.

Very fizzy. All you taste at first is the carbonation. Then the light peach followed by sour malt. I like how they have understated the fruit with this brew and haven't overwhelmed you with sweet syrup like many fruity beers. Light body with the sour aftertaste. Not bad but I can't see picking this one up again.

Peach colored brew with a distinctive peach taste. Does not taste peach syrup just a light peachy aftertaste. Great head also, did not disapear too quickly. One fine fruit beer. Would be interesting to aged a little bit to see the result... Another great beer from Unibroue

Ahhhh, the 2003 edition of the Ephemere peach, and my first chance ever to try it. Came in a big 750 ml brown bottle, elegant looking nymph painted on the label. I like how Unibroue alters their labels for each different fruit for Ephemere, but keeps the same motif, classy, and shows they're willing to put the little extra touches in to their product.

Uncorked with a big satisfying POP, pours out a peachy/straw haze, big big head on it that eventually recedes to a thin cap. Initial nose is of intense Okanagan peaches right off the tree. Also underlying nose of wheat and yeast. Flavour is basically a fruity, peachy version of Blanche de Chamblay, and I have no real complaints about that at all. Mouthfeel is a little watery, or I should say more watery than I was expecting, however this is a very smooth ale, a classy way to spend a nice afternoon or evening in front of the barbecue or fire pit.

The beer pours a hazy harvest gold appliance color, very attractive, and matches my linoleum floor. The head is huge and frothy, with tight bubbling. It's slightly off white, and dies very slowly, still leaving some mist unil the last sip.
Aroma is decidedly peachy, with a slight unripened tart sourness. Plenty of wheaty maltiness, with a touch of white grape. The peach is reminiscent of sweet tarts, for some reason. The same tanginess.
The first flavor I noticed, that wasn't in the aroma, was coriander. Only the first sip, and then all i could really taste was the malt and fruit. A mild belgian candi sweetness at first, tapering out to a dry tart peachy flavor. The peach is present throughout the sip, but much more prominent towards the end. Body is light, great bubbly mouthfeel, effervescent and refreshing.

Bought at The Beer Store (Terry Fox North of the 417: Kanata), 6/08/03, 2800 miles in my trunk.

The small, white, fizzy head is fast and noisy, leaving tiny spots of lacing. The beer is pale, cloudy, orange, with lots of fine carbonation. Major peach in the nose! The front is tangy citrus, and loaded with peach. The middle is thin, sweet, peachy, fizzy. Finish is kind of champagne-like: dry. And peachy. Some nice bread in the aftertaste.

Overall, I'd say very good. Strangely, this one sours a little with temperature.

Cloudy golden/light orange pour. The nose is blasting with ripe peaches and fruit cups. Very appetizing nose. The taste is again of peaches but compared to the big nose, the peach flavours are very subtle and soft. Creamy mouthfeel. Very little sweetness. No syrupy sugar flavours here. More tartness would have been nice but it's hard to knock it. Overall, a light refreshing beer that teases the palate with fresh peaches. Not a classic by any stretch but a decent beer experience nonetheless.

Pours a slightly hazy, yellow body that's capped by a creamy head of bright white foam which holds fairly well. An effervescent carbonation is evident as tiny bubbles race to the surface. The head drops to a nice collar and thin surface covering, but leaves no lace. The aroma is distinctly peachy and quite natural. It's like a fresh peach - very fruity and sweet, but not sugary. It appears bold at first, but softens as the nose becomes adjusted to it. The body is light, and the effervescent carbonation bites lightly at the tongue. Crisp and refreshing! The flavor delivers the same natural peach character followed by some gentle, wheat-like malt. The bitterness is well restrained, as might be expected, and it finishes crisp and dry with - surprise - a residual flavor of natural peach. Light and refreshing - it's certainly more of an apertif than an after dinner drink. Well done and quite enjoyable!
