Mostly clear golden amber color with a large, pillowy, off-white head that leaves fine stripes of lacing down the glass and sticks around the whole time.
The smell is the showcase for this one it would seem. Relentless citrusy, floral hops greet you at the pop of the cap. The pour releases them further; this beer by smell alone would pass for a DIPA.
Taste lets up a little bit but not much. Still plenty of cascade hops, some grapefruit, trace apricot. The epitomy of a west coast pale ale.
Not much separates this one from an IPA, except maybe a little more body and alcohol. Mouthfeel is overwhelmingly sharp and bitter, makes you pucker at the end, but if you were looking for balance, you picked up the wrong six-pack.
Drinkable enough for a hop head. I definitely wouldn't mind having this on hand all summer.

Appearance: 1/3 inch head, clear, gold in color
Smell: citrus hops and light malt
Taste: citrus hops--orange and lemon, light toasted malt
Mouthfeel: light bodied, moderate carbonation, semi-sweet start, slightly bitter middle--getting more bitter to the end, super clean.
Drinkability: Nicely blended APA that is very citrusy. I can tell it takes a lot of talent to get a brew to be this clean. Could session this one.

A thin, pale, lagerish ale. Clear gold with good head and lace, mild aroma of malts and bread crust. Generally sweet bready, caramel malts lead the way here, with a very light trace of hops near the finish. Hops are so mild it's hard to believe this is a west coast pale. This is the kind of beer you could drink all night when you'd rather be paying attention to the conversation with your buddies than focusing on what you're drinking. I can't think of a pale ale as easy to drink as this, and that more than makes up for the "lightness" of the brew.

This stuff is still around? I haven't seen this beer for days. Far inferior to their new line of beers.
Average appearance, a little more copper than gold. Aroma lacking.
Taste, not quite a mess, but lacking any direction, were they trying for an American pale or British? Tastes like neither. Lacking hop quality. Far more to the malty side than any of their pale/ipas they make currently.

Really charged bottles, lots of medium-bubbled head. Slightly murky orange/amber, on the pale side. Some small chunks. Aromatic caramelly aroma -- nice. Carbonation medium, adds to drinkability. Nice hoppy profile, not too overbearing, but citrusy/fruity. Malts are on the non-descript side. A little too acidic for me, but it is reasonably balanced and with a bite. Smell of the big head adds to flavor.

Appearance: With an upright semi-vigorous pour foaming white head isn't so big lacks the two finger ideal measurement but the lacing as it dwindles leaves behind a nice evenly dispersed ring over a golden amber hazed tone, nice looking pale ale. Aroma: Piney with honey bread tones at the edges the malt backbone is there in effect bringing a nice balance to each sniff. Taste: Fruity, bready edge from the bottle conditioned yeast sediment poured into my glass overall the piney hops ride a smooth refreshing wave of flavor down the ol' gullet, not too bad. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied ale with a good mix of hops and malt creating a nice smooth ride no shock and awe here. Drinkability: Decent west coast pale ale but for pure drinkability hand me a SNPA before this one eh?

Lagunitas pale ale pours amber gold in a pint glass, nice aroma of citrus and some pine.... Real tasty hopped up pale ale. Reminds me of a recent bottle of Sierra Nevada torpedo only a little bit less malt. Mighty fine addition to your fridge selection. Liked it so much, brewing up a clone batch for myself!

A hazy golden-orange body rests lazily beneath a pillowy off-white head. Its retention is limited, however, and it drops shortly to just a big-bubbled collar and partial surface covering. Still, a simple swirl of the glass will bring back up some more creaminess; and it does leave some spotty lace. A gently sweet caramelish malt and soft citrusy hops greet you in the nose. The body is medium/full and enhanced by a very fine and natural carbonation. It's quite creamy and smooth across the palate - almost velvety! The rich caramel-laced malt returns in the flavor, laced with spicy and floral hops and backed by a firm bitterness that balances the sweetness and dries the bold finish (although there's some soft and round sweet malt at the start, it does eventually receed to leave the back of the throat bone-dry and ready for another taste). Very nice, and quite interesting. Somewhat unique in its maltiness and soft body; and the hops are definitely present but not overdone. Quite drinkable; and well worth trying.
